Ok, yeah, so I hardly did any work for this, except for alot of optimising and a bit of reassigning the textures to the mandibles, but I felt it was necessary, because I do love my Arachnid skulk replacement so dearly, and even more so the red backed reskin... anyway here's a picture, it just replaces the skulk mouth, no new animations, but I just HAD to have it to go with my skulk, and I finally got my **** and did it...

    I think that its pretty good, but I just dont like how it bites...the two pincer thingies or w/e for the teeth. It just seems bizarre. However if I used the arachnid model I would use it, as it is better than the other one I've seen some around here. BTW low poly isnt a bad thing. My own default skulk model is 700 somethin.     they just kinda chewed up into pieces or cut em up from what I remember
    there needs to be more ST bug models like that green "hopper" flying arachnid for the lerk, and like the brainbug for the hive, and the gorge could be one of those transport beetles... that carried the brainbug..     Yes, this is just a hack job on the default bones and what not, but I just felt like doing something quick to get myself introduced into the forums, nothing like my more complex releases for FireArms mod... nothing like this:

    I too am a Trigun fan, which is why I went through the trouble of making a completely new model, even though like 5 of them already exist, but honestly... I think they all sucked, they models were not only innaccurate to the design of the series, but they were just so ugly looking, but that's why I made mine, and it is very true to the series <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Would you need to reanimate? Couldn't someone just knock up a set of Firearms compatible bones that use the NS default marine hand model?

    That way you'd just need to do minor editing, and it'd be much MUCH easier for people to convert stuff (with the proper permissions, naturally).




    BTW its not always a case of just changing the model, the Onos ones are very strange and some animations would just look veerrrry odd if the models were merely replaced.

    You wouldnt need to reanimate v models at all, just decompile and rename sequences as needed, then recompile, adjusting framerate as needed to preserve the timing... did that a long time ago with a Pulse Rifle originally for CS, had no problems...

    Well, my problem, and primary concern, is in the location of the bone structure, as the FA hand bone structure is the way I prefer, with the primary bones seperate in each arm, and at the beginning of each arm instead of in the wrist, not to mention
    "posing" the NS hands onto the default FA hand bones would be no fun at all...

    It'd be no fun but someone would need to do it, and only do it *once*, and that way virtually every FA model could be converted across.

    That, however, is modeller work, and I only casually tinker with animation.
