2004
Well I went to the Warped Tour this year in Sacramento, CA (it was about a 6 hour drive to get there.) This was the first time I'd been to the Warped Tour in about 2 or 3 years, and man was it a good time.

When I first got there at around 1:00pm, I got in quick and easy and I started to check out the booths. Thats when I met some of my favorite bands (Anti-Flag, Bad Religion, The Sounds, etc....I met Yellow Card but I don't like them really.) I also got to meet a few "celebrities", as in professional skaters/bmx riders. There were a lot of bands there I didn't really know, but the ones that I did want to see were : Coheed & Cambria, The Vandals, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, Bouncing Souls, and of course Flogging Molly.

The first banned I really watched was The Vandals because they've been one of my favorite bands since I was about 12. They were INSANE, and it kicked ****. They kind of bs'd every now and then, but they were pretty funny. They chose a lot of good songs to play.

I watched Anti-Flag next. I got right up in front row after moshing in the pit for about 4 songs. Between each song they played, it was them just bashing Bush...But all the California kids seemed to agree with them.....liberals. Anti-Flag said some good things, and not to mention that they kick **** and I almost caught a pick!

Now I'm going to skip hours later after watching TONS of bands, and go right to the good stuff....Flogging Molly. Not only are they talented as hell, they are the funniest bastards I've seen on stage. It made me laugh that they all drank beer between the songs and then played the Irish Drinking Song. Of course I had to mosh to them, which I received a sore nose from now. Oh yeah, croud surfing is awsome. New Found Glory played right before them and Flogging Molly said, right before they started to play, "That was New Found Glory...cheer for them" or something to that extent. It made me laugh that the WHOLE crowd booed them...haha.

Bad Religion was the last band to play because everyone loves them. They played like 3 or 4 songs from their newest CD which just came out a few weeks ago I think. Good stuff....

Okay that was a lot of writing. Basically, I encourage anyone to go to the Warped Tour even though a lot of my buddies think it's for "posers". The fact of the matter is, they have some good bands and thats all that matters. Did anyone here go?

I'm soooo pumped for when Warped comes out to the East coast in August.

So many bands I want to see, namely Boys Night Out, Fall Out Boy, and Coheed. Been listening to all three of them heavily and haven't had a chance to see them in concert anywhere, and now they're all on one set, which is great.

On the more "punk" side of things, Anti-Flag and Bad Religion are both great.

Alexisonfire and Avenged Sevenfold are good too, if a bit hardcore for my tastes. Their guitar players are amazing technically though, so it's worth it to wade through the screaming to hear the solos they can throw down. Plus I'm a huge fan of anything with a double bass drum pedal.

You have me all excited about this, and it's more than a month away for me. Grr.

Every band I like seems to go on the Warped tour the year BEFORE I find out about them. The Aquabats went on the year before I heard about them, Treephort was on I think 2 years before I heard about them, it makes me angry. Either way, looks like a few good bands, but noone I would go see at a concert. If they did their own shows around here I'd go see 'em, since shows>concerts anyways.
