Music Changs In Ns

<div class="IPBDescription">call me crazy.</div> ok, a neat thing with total annihilation, if you configd the music, after about 3 or 4 missles were fired, the music would change to something more for battle, when there was no more guns being fired, it would go back to the buidling music.

is there any way to do this for NS, i tried messing around with winamp but theres a 1 min delay whenever i press the right button, perhaps is there an automatic thing? also i messed around with hl amp, but it seems its only for cs and i cant seem to get to work with ns, any help at that?

thx

    I doubt there is a way to do this without built in code. You could manually change it with HL Amp, but that defeats the purpose and gets you killed <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    It only works this way in other games because the coding is there from the get-go.

    HL (And NS in particular) can't tell when a tense battle is about to come, nor should it.

    Think of it this way: If you have music enabled whenever a marine fires his gun, it'd have to be very subdued.. otherwise a skulk could pop around the corner, making you fire a shot, meanwhile a nonsilence/cloaked skulk walks up behind you *near* silently, but you didn't notice, because of said music.

    It's a nice concept, but I'm afraid it'd never see implementation. Too many logistical problems and potential (massive) bugs/exploits. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    There should be an option to set the time between music tracks to zero. Then bind some unused button to Nexttrack, and hit it when you want a change of music.

    I've totally customized my NS music library, it's all a bunch of techstep and militant jungle.

    this is not what i am attempting to do.
    the music should enable itself when the marine (if you are him) has fired his<b> 10th</b> LMG bullet and would disable itself shortly after the known skulk is dead and you stop fireing, or when you die.
    games with Human controlled and when things arent programmed to go a certain way can never tell when something is about to happen, how could TA tell if your going to attack with those levelers or build up and get hurricanes?

    currently, i have winamp fixed with hotkeys so i cant quickly use my 3rd ability or knife, pg down is start/play and i can never tpe the number 9 because, thats stop with fade!

    currently things lag for 3 seconds before the music changes. but i dont know anything on programming, plus i cant seem to get hlamp working at all, does that have hotkeys on that? or di i have to press buttons in a big annoying menu?

    Edit, fixed bold mistake <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    <span style='color:white'>Be nice.</span>

    You want custom music in NS for your mood? Suffer with hlamp's delay. Other games have "mood music" put in coded to trigger at specific events (enough gunfire, units under attack, etc.), the same would be far too buggy in NS to ever see implementation.

    annd! i cant find out how to install hlamp.

    btw, my keyboars sucks and i have fat fingers, so every now and then theres bound to be a mistake.

    I honestly feel this thread has already been answered, so please allow me to first sum up and then <span style='color:red'>***lock***</span> it:<ul><li>Hard-coding event-based music is not easy, not practical as NS' own score consists of too few tracks to offer many options. Add the technical challenges of smooth transitions and the likes and you get a timedrain that makes it unlikely to be implemented any time soon.</li><li>Outside players such as HLAmp might solve your problems - <i>their</i> issues, such as the delay, are however a matter for <i>their</i> forums.</li></ul>
