I noticed something extremely interesting when I reinstalled my server last week.
I ran Redhat 7.3 since it's been out. I noticed that my CPU usage was about half what other people claimed. I even graphed this out to make sure there wasn't something I was missing. A full 14 player server would usually take no more then 30% of the CPU.
Recently, I installed fedora core 2. Now when I run the server it takes about double the usage it used to. Could there be something that has changed either int he compiler or the kernel that could be causing such an increase in usage? I wonder if I revert back to redhat 7.3 whether my usage would also decline back to that way it was.
