To walk, we are forced to use counter-intuitive workarounds just to make it work like it's supposed to: silently. Bunny hopping is a dev-supported feature, whether or not Half-Life was initially designed with it in mind. Trying to use bunnyhopping to argue that a bug is okay as long as it has a work-around is ludicrous to say the least.

but its not a bug... walking silent is a skill that you need to aquire through practice. If you dont want to practice... tell your team to build 3 MCs and get silence.

It is a bug, or at least an oversight. Do you really think it was intended that walk would make a footstep if you turned just a little bit too fast? That serves absolutely no purpose other than to be an inconvenience and screw up skulk ambushes. Please give me just one good reason why walk should be the way it is rather than actually functional. I've never seen an FPS with the silent walk feature as screwed up as it is in NS. This exact same problem has already been fixed with cloaking, so obviously it's not intentional(or, if you still insist on clinging on to that idea, the devs obviously don't support it anymore).

Why should walking technique be a skill? Does that really add to the game in any way whatsoever? Does it make the game more fun or balanced? Bunnyhopping is another matter altogether. At least it is a skill that you expect to master, balances the game at clan-level play and requires many hours of time and practise (although I am all for simplifying it for the rest of the pub community). You don't expect to master the skill of walking for god's sake. You expect to move silently without any problems. A newbie can understand that bunnyhopping is a skill that requires you to master, but he would expect walking to work when he wants it to. Its like expecting you to move your cursor in a certain fashion before you can fire in cargo storage because some weird bug prevented you from doing it.
