Where to start...
Yea, I'm looking for a job. I need somthing that will basically hire me on the spot. I don't care what the job is either, as long as a 17 year old can work there.

Does anyone have any ideas? Just point me in a general direction.

If it helps, I live in the vecinity of North West Denver, a specific job would be nice but a general idea of a type of work helps too.

I'm looking to get some money for a trip that I was invited to ($80 round trip from Denver to Cancun, plus spending $$ while I'm there)

Anyway, anyone have any ideas? I'm going to fill out as many aps as I can tomarrow and hope for somthing soon, but the sooner the better.

The hippie is getting a job! ;)

Well, you're gonna have to fill out application's, but if your standards aren't too high and you just want the typical teenager job then start going to grocery stores, blockbuster videos, and video game stores and filling out applications until you get someone to hire you.

Of course if you want to take it more seriously and less hippie-like then you could make a resume and etc. Since you don't have a lot of work experience make sure you focus on your skills that could be percieved as translating well into whatever job you are competing for.

Good luck! And cut the hair. :P

Well, I have had jobs in the past. Web design and magazine layout, as well as 2 years at Six Flags.

I just got lazy. Anyway... Yea, the trip is in a few weeks, and I'd need a few hundred bucks by then if I wanted to go. Yea...

go to small family businesses, and ask if theyre looking for help. they tend to be very nice people and you become friends with the whole group of em.

i find its better to have a nice job with a friendly environment than to get a slightly higher paying job where they treat you like scum, ie fast food or chain stores or malls.

Well, I applied at a photography store, Maximum Gamer (cyber gafe) blockbuster, safeway, and Pietras Pizzaria (dishwashing...)

The camera store and the cyber cafe are at the top of the list.

I'm actually not sure which is worse... the 13 year old CS nubs or the 12 year old BF plane camper smacktards. Good luck with both

Just get off your FAT LAZY ARSE and apply to a supermarket/fastfood outlet. Yeah it sucks but it will open your eyes to the real world where most jobs suck anyway but you have to just grin and bear it to earn money. The only thing that can make it bearable is the people you work with.

I have had quite a few shite jobs but have managed to make some of the best friends I am ever likely to know through them.

Don't believe them! I went for a similar job. The job description was almost like this:

"Duties are loading and unloading the potwasher and dishwashers as well as the routine cleaning". I get to do that as well as cleaning everything else in this huge kitchen. I've stuck with this job for the last two years because it is relatively easy and it's within walking distance. Hours can be a pain though. Take today for example, I'm starting at 7.30 am.

And I just read V-man's post before hitting reply. He's absolutely right.

I had a job like that when i was 16 and it was really really really lame. It was exactly as you described, similar description loading unloading etc but again I had to clean the whole kitchen as well as help the cook prepare the meals. They also started me on £2.90 an hour as opposed to the £3.50 that was advertised because I wasn't fully "trained" but would go up when I was trained. As you might have guessed that never went up to £3.50 they just changed to subject or said I was to slow at the job whenever i bought it up.
