<div class="IPBDescription">....the movie</div> If you're one of those freaks that always complains about movies not being original, then go see "The Terminal."
I just saw it earlier today and I can't even begin to think of any movie I've ever seen that was like it in more than a very vague sense.
I just thought I should share.... YAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to see this movie. I really think Tom Hanks is a good actor and would see allmost anything he is in.
It seems original enough from the advertisments I've seen. I'll have to check that out, thanks THEM
edit: I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, the last thing I want is enemies.
yeah, I originally had one impression of it in my mind from those ads. When I actually saw it, it got wayyyyyy weirder than I ever thought.
I am now going to use a new smiley that I see on the left for no reason whatsoever....

My review of the film. Spoliers are contained within, so quit whining.
Feels like "Forrest Gump Goes to the Airport".
Catherine Zeta Jones' character was pointless. It's fortunate Hanks' character let her go, because she was not worth it. She wasn't likable in the least. Wasn't necessary to the story, either, and only served to distract. I'm not entirely sure what the reason for the character was, really. Perhaps to show flawed human character, I don't know.
The somewhat-villian of the story, Stanley Tucci, had such a undefined character that one didn't know if he was to be liked or not. His attitude of "get him out of my hair" seemed to be trying to show an attempt at kindness, but a poor attempt at that. By the end of the movie, the character became a cartoonish caricature of a person. The scenes with him screaming into the radio, yelling at the TV screens felt very Disney-esque for a villian. Very typical style of villian, nothing special.
Some rather contrived moments, especially the marriage between Zoe Saldana's and Diego Luna's characters. She never meets the guy, but is already ready to marry him? It made it seem like the entire picture wasn't shown, and it hurts the credibility.
The "cheat" scene was far too overplayed. It was "cute" for the first few times, but got old fast.
The reason for going to New York was rather cheap, in my opinion. I know it was the honorable thing to do, keeping a promise and all, but still... the father's dead. What does it matter?
It got very muddied throughout the second half of the film, once Hanks' character started drooling over Jones'. I think if some of what I felt non-essential story lines could have been removed to ease the Forrest Gump similarities, it would allow more time to be spent on each character, rather than going through a slideshow of good deeds.
Too little was spent on the day to day activities of Hanks' character. The opening scene, where he is going from television to television, was very poignant. The scale of the set was noticable, while for the rest of the film, it's too cut apart to get a size. Gate 67 doesn't feel like part of the airport, nor does any of the restaurants. We need to see the locations, and how they mesh together. The TV scene did that, and did it well.
Overall, it was a watch once movie for me. Some critics felt manipulated, their heartstrings being tugged to the extreme in sappy moments that left them gagging for air. I can see their point - there were times where it just went into overdrive with the sappy factor, and it was bothersome. However, I thought the movie was nice, but not great.
