Two high quality games that will last you a LONG time, and it's cheap to boot.
I was THIS ]-----[ close to bursting out into song when I read that...
Song bursting crisis averted!

Get a GBA, Advance Wars, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission, Wario Ware, Zelda, the Marios, Sega Arcade Collection (the one with Outrun), Mario Kart, Kuru Kuru Kururin, F-Zero, Mario VS Donkey Kong, now you need to go to the bank, hurry before they close, Golden Sun 1 & 2, Broken Sword, Harvest Moon, Final Fantasy Tactics, and a rewritable flash cart so you can play NES games or read books or have a picture gallery or break the law with GBA roms of all the games I just mentioned!
But don't do that.
Zelda: Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX (one of my favorite racing games! unlocked all the parts <except Bahamut> and the AX cup without taking my memory card to the arcade), Custom Robo, Phantasy Star Online, Monkeyball, Pikmin, Bloody Roar: Primal Fury, SSX: Tricky...
Besides, you can shell out a few more bucks for a GBA player, if you have something you really wanna play... and play it on the bigscreen. My GBA is sitting and being very bored, except for Tetris. Yes, I have one of the OLD paks still.
F-Zero GX is damn near impossible to finish 100%
You really do need to put in the hours.
But there arent any arcades with the AX version in them
The final mission on story mode is rock hard, i still havent finished it.
All in all though, GX is a great game.
P.S. <---- Symbol for the win
Metroid Prime was nothing but good graphics and half-assed gameplay thanks to shoddy AI.
Windwaker had the most assinine puzzles I'd ever seen in my entire life, and they butchered the fighting system(made it REALLY slow).
My GBA though(not SP, mind you- but SP is better) has gotten tons of playtime out of me though> FFTA, either Metroid game on there, Advance Wars 1 & 2, Golden Sun 1 & 2, and not to mention all the speciality games coming soon.
Metroid Prime rocks, but if you have any question as to whether you'll like it or not: RENT IT! That's the great thing about consoles, you can rent the damn thing to see if you like it or not.
Also, I cannot recommend Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes high enough. Best game ever. And if you don't have a PS2, pick up Mega Man Anniversary Edition on gamecube (if you have a PS2 pick it up on PS2 instead). It also pwns. And Mario Sunshine is the most fun I've had with a mario game since Super Mario World. It pwns.
And of course there is Wind Waker, which has already been mentioned here. It pwns.
Pardon?
Great story!

Must I silence you on this matter, again?
But when a Space Pirate- and I quote: "One of the most deadly things in the universe."- only sidesteps back and forth while I continue to come out of my cover long enough to hit him with a charged shot- that just proves someone doesn't give a rats arse about AI.
It's Madness! Don't you know British music when you see it?
YES

You're playing the wrong game if you want complex AI.
Interesting boss battles would have been fun too. But generally they were all "Dodge, THEN shoot! Dodge, THEN shoot!" which isn't very encouraging(the only one that was really done well was the hundreds of bugs- that was tons of fun, and very unique, because for most of it I felt "Damn I'm gonna friggin die.", and when I made it out with a sliver of hp left, I was a happy happy man- but that was early in the game).
But to each his own, there's nothing wrong w/ that.
Now, lets put the negative fest behind us and concentrate on something we can all agree on:
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes ROCKS.

MGS:Twin snakes For the win
I found it hard :/
Metroid prime rocked
Who cares about crappy AI, and it's way harder playing through on hard, after finishing it once. All the enemies take twice the amount of hits.
Those handhelds are teh win for the manifacturer! they bring in some serious money .
I might actually double my library and get SF when it drops a bit. I still play FF:T for my PSOne--the greatest portable gaming system since the Nomad, wish also gets occasional play.
