Bring on the suck...
From <a href='http://games.kikizo.com/news/200406/007.asp' target='_blank'>Kikizo Games</a>: <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Players assume the role of a special military operative who sets out on a mission to uncover the truth about his past after awakening in a small West Coast Town with no memory of who he is or what happened to him. Soon his investigation steers him towards a deadly genetic outbreak that has plagued the town and his mission becomes one of survival as he's hunted by wave after wave of unspeakable terrors in the form of failed genetic experiments.
Unarmed and heavily outnumbered you soon discover that to survive you'll need to tap into your darkest power and unleash the beasts that reside within you in order to eliminate the enemy onslaught and uncover the mysteries behind the Genome Project.

...Along with the ability to transform into these mighty beasts, you'll also be able to claim the powers of some of your fallen foes and use them to manipulate your genetic DNA system and strategically assign powerful attributes to each beast, utilizing their unique abilities to overcome a variety of puzzles and obstacles they'll encounter throughout the game.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> The author commented that he wasn't sure puzzle elements belonged in an Altered Beast game. Personally, I don't mind that idea, but why does EVERY GAME released today have to include both a specops-trained main character and some kind of genetic-alteration plot? DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT! Hell, do something old school -- have Zeus raise both players from the GRAVE and send them to fight LEGIONS OF UNDEAD.
Oh, and remember how I complained that it was coming out for PS2? Yeah, the screenshots are pretty <a href='http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/alteredbeast/screenindex.html' target='_blank'>pants</a>.
Including <a href='http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/alteredbeast/screens.html?page=18' target='_blank'>the most half-***ed photoshop concept art ever</a>.
Somehow that explanation in the quote completely ruins the purpose of the game. Trying to make it "serious" or "cool" destroys the point of it. I am moderately dissapointed. Their story just plain sucks as well. It isn't supposed to be realistic, even false realistic.
The main character is gonna be bald. And there's gonna be a supporting character who's a chick with big boobs and is tried furiously to be made out to be bad-arse, but it will just come off as silly because she's really skinny. Also, if there's two player, she'll be the second player.
EDIT: Maybe he isn't bald. But in any case, he's got the spikey hair, because THAT'S HOW UNIQUE HE IS. Wouldn't want you to MISS HIM.

WTH <i>are</i> those little blobs of crap the dragon is flying over? Those things don't have hands!
And the ray of death seemingly emanating from his ear?
