Thing That Apart Us From Cs...

just got this idea...

I just wrote some post and realized something.

Being marine you need good sense of coordination in every situation.

Few examples:

1 vs 1 skulk: with lmg and skulk on toes you need to know exactly where to jump
or shoot.

with jp : you need to be aware for those inchy corners.

going out with sg: you have only 8 shots and fast roaming buggies forward

Some situation with alins to....

From this i also realized that, in cs you need more reflex to act quickly AND this is the thing that separates ns from most fps. you dont need to know recoil and reflexes, just good sense of motion near you including yourself!

Does this make any sense?

Don't forget you need to memorise bullet patterns in CS in order to full auto anything, and once you do it's painfully simple to kill 4 people at a distance full auto.

and then you realise you have no life becuase you just memorized the freaking bullet patterns for a game and you instantly kill yourself from lack of social standing and a life.

Also, in NS, you have to be aware of what is going on, not just in your immediate vincinity, but across the map. In CS, the Terrorists may plant a bomb, but most maps are so small you can run from one end to the other and still defuse. In NS, you dont KNOW when that 2nd hive is going up (as a marine) and the intel is absolutely vital.

All this is apart from the "2 very different races, commandermode, IQ 90+ required" stuff that turned this game into the best mod ever. EVAR!

It isnt that hard, really. I knew em when I was playing CS (1.3-1.5).. It just takes a bit of practice and spraying some walls to see how the recoil is for different weapons.

And for the record I have a girlfriend since 10 months back and a great life kthx

Well after you shoot at someone and realize "Hey my bullets either suck or arn't going there" it's not too hard to figure out if you play for no more than an hour a week.

Something that makes NS players different from CS players? We get to run around as space cows eating marines.

Seriously though, NS players seem to be far more laid back (i.e. focus more on teamplay and fun than k/d ratios) than CS players.

    Hmm....

CS == Run around, shoot randomly, headshot everyone, Kicked by console

NS == Run around, shoot randomly, get eaten by Onos

Other than that, the're just both FPS games.

    EDIT : Fixed embarassing typo

CS 1.3-1.5 = ok ok. CS 1.6 = bad bad I mean chest-neck shot = headshot. It's that simple. Shield removed from all servers. CS server admins = no respect.
NS server admins = some respect.

I appreciate that you tried to keep this rational, but the thread is bound to degenerate into CS-bashing, as we can already see in some posts. Thus, I'm ***locking*** this.
