Hotkey Binding-ness

During co games there are alien players who leap, and immediately bite. They say they can do this by hotkeying the attack for those seperate attacks. How can I do this too?

Sorry if this has been posted, I tried to search for it but didn't find anything relevant. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

You can't. Most people use lastinv to switch weapons fast, and it's a rather important skill to learn. There's some talk about lastinv in <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73367' target='_blank'>this thread.</a> I talked about a couple of alternatives in that thread, but you should find a solution which you are comfortable if you really want to kill in NS.

well, if they/you have a mouse that has extra buttons in it, you can bind them accordingly.

    select bite, then leap.
press your fire button to leap, but keep it pressed.
as soon as you begin your leap, use your lastinv button to switch to bite.

    Console command: hud_fastswitch 1
Bind a key to "lastinv", the syntax is "bind KEY lastinv" in Console. personally, I use T (it's close on the WASD setup, y'know?)

Then again, why anyone would want to bite after leaping is beyond me. Leap Kills > all!

Most of them are variants on <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=57049&st=120#entry839166' target='_blank'>blinkswipe</a>.

They're bound to one mousebutton or key, and are set up so that when you press the button down, it switches over to leap (slot 3), and causes it to happen right away (wait; +attack). You can hold the key down as long as needed to do the effect, and then when you let up on that key, it stops leaping (-attack) and switches back into attack mode (wait; slot1), at which point you can immediately hit your attack button to bite.

So instead of pressing "3, mouse1, q, mouse1", you "press mouse2 down, release mouse2, press mouse1", which is a little easier to coordinate. Arguing whether this is acceptable is left as an excersize to the reader, as we're not here to start flamewars.

    Yeah that works perfectly. Hud_fastswitch + Default = winner. Weird why bind q = slot1 mouse 2 = slot 2 h = slot 3 and stuff like that?
