Err how?
There must be a way to do this, anyone know how to take just the sound from an AVI file and convert it to an MP3 file? I love listening to Chicago but it crashes NS when I listen to the AVI and play NS at the same time.

Get a program called Virtual Dub. Load up the movie in the program and click File>Save WAV.

Then just convert to mp3 using any old wav->mp3 program.

VirtualDub - Video encoding/decoding/etc program. Usefull for re-encoding videos into DivX or whatever takes your fancy.
CDex - Mp3 ripping program. Also does WAV-> mp3. Just use the buttons on the right.

    In Windows:

Go to your volume controls. These are either right down in your taskbar by the clock, or in your control panel under Sounds and Multimedia.

Once you have opened your volume controls, click on Options>Properties.

There should be a selection of two options to Adjust Sound Properties: Playback, and Recording. Select Recording. Click OK.

You should now see a series of controls for your various recording options. Select the Stereo Mix, or in SoundBlaster Audigy cards, "What You Hear". When I say select, I mean to click the check box under the control, thereby selecting that recording line. This will record every sound your computer transmits, from web page bleeps and bloops to your ICQ notification event. Everything. Including AVI files!

Now, record using your preferred recording program. It can be something as simple as the sound recorder included with Windows (but that only records .wav files, which are huge).

Once you're done, switch the recording control back to Microphone so you can use that again in-game. All set.
