    great, another 500 bucks to add to my already too large "upgrade your darn computer since it last borked itself" list.

    and to say I was so nice as to give a 200 euros in addition to a couple of CD's for my brother's 18th birthday <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Yeah, but note how they're PCI-E only. It looks like they're the low-end cards for the PCI-E market. You know, the card for the hobbyists and people who aren't willing to dish out the cash for the latest and greatest. These cards serve to win the low-end market over to PCI-E.

    Heh. Funny part is, ATi is already shipping their PCI-X parts to system integrators and OEMs. But they won't be available retail until the standard gets a little more widespread. As opposed, none of the GF6 third-party manufacturers even have a PCI-X version designed, much less available.
    Same thing with the availability of the cards... the local Fry's has X800 XTPEs on the shelf, whereas not a single GF6 is in stock. ^_^
