<div class="IPBDescription">Mic trouble and finding a server</div> Hey everyone. Just thought I'd be nooblike and annoy you with my problems.
1) My mic doesn't work. Well, the mic itself works PERFECTLY. Whenever I record or go into the voice section in Half-Life games it comes out wonderful, but when I try to set it up in Windows and enable it for online sending and gaming, it gives me an error. Obviously this is annoying as I have an awesome mic and absolutely no way to get it working properly. When I do try to use it, people say it stutters a ton and barely works. Let me show you what it says when I test it under the Audio devices panel in the Control Panel. (Win XP)
"An error occured during DirectPlay Voice setup. The error code is 0x80004005"
then I click ok and it says:
"Windows cannot execute DpvSetup.exe, use add/remove programs control panel to install."
Any help would be appreciated. (I also have a Soundblaster Audigy Platinum if that helps)
2) this is probly stupid and very noob-like, but I'm having trouble finding a server over steam. I recently installed all the updates in order (from 3 to 4a) , but when I try to look up a server in Steam, no servers come up at all. I remember hearing that NS was very popular and had over 2 million downloads off the main site, but either A) my comp is screwed up, or B) NS isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Anyways any help would be appreciated. Thanks and goodbye.
