Co: Reupply Vs. Armor3

<div class="IPBDescription">also has some NS relevance</div> In combat, resupply (especially for jetpackers) often helps the marines survive focus attacks. It only takes 2 focus attacks to take down any light armor marine with armor upgrades one, two, or even three. With resupply, however, they often survive until the third or fourth bite.

Which makes armor 3 completely useless against focus aliens, which are fairly common in CO maps. you might as well get resupply, which can help you survive the third attack sometimes, as well as keeps your ammo coming, for the same price as armor three.

So, a few suggestions:

1) Resupply only takes effect after standing still for 2 or so seconds.
or
2) Increase resupply price to two levels.
or
3) Make armor three take three focus bites to kill.

As for relevance in ns_mode, armor three doesn't help against focus aliens, just like combat. While focus is only occasionally used (seeing as most of the games follow DMS and many end with aliens only having two hives), there always is the chance that that may be changed.

    I only took armour 3 once, and I regret taking it - was the biggest waste of a point .... should have got an hmg instead ^_^


    agreed - resupply some times seems a bit overpowered, but I wouldn't like to see the cost increased to 2 - it just cuts down even more configs people can use (can't get jp + level 2 hmg for example)...

    Unless they plan on removing the aliens ability to get a ridiculous amount of traits, resupply shouldn't be changed. =|

    agreed.

    Maybe slow down the medpack resupply after taking damage though. It is incredibly annoying when you bite him and he gets a medpack <1 second after you bit him.

    I like the idea of making resupply key off of the marine commands.

    Give it a maximum spammage of 1 drop/second, but have it so it only goes off when the marine calls for it, and only what he calls for. (Health or Ammo)

    Not only does it add slightly more skill to the game (marine has to keep an eye on his health or ammo and actually call for the appropriate one when it gets low) but it gives aliens an audio clue to what's going on, as well as trains new folk to use those commands when they get into NS proper -- thus helping out commanders.

    You CAN survive 2 skulk focus bites, but you need both resuply and armor 3. Fades will just whipe you out though. Yeah armor 3 is kinda useless without resuply and even with that, it's only worth it if there are lots of superskulks (or lerks) on the alien team.

    Hum no, Armor 1 lets to you take two hits from a focus; skulk, fade ,lerk. I'm not sure about an onos but how many focus oni do you see running around? And even at armor 2 and 3 you only take 2 hits. Thats why i normaly don't get past armor 1. I find MT and welders more useful to my team then a Jp or Ha.

    PS: the only time i get armor 3 is when i wanna be a jerk and rush HA, resupply and armor 3 and just knife skulks.

    Just point at your wounded three buddies for 2 seconds each and if they have resupply also, they'll be infantry portal fresh. That's better than each of them dying in one hit on the next alien attack. And if your team gets a heavy, you might as well follow him around and weld him.

    Stack: the problem is that a lot of people (including me) doesn't find the welder to be worth one point.

    I think there should be an "equipment upgrade" that would give you mines, welder and handgrenades, to encourage people using the items.

    Please, no more buffs to the marines already. The only change resupply needs is for the marine to either be still, or have to be on the ground in order to be resupplied. The big problem is that its hard enough biting a Jetpacker when hes in the air, but impossible to kill if he has resupply. You see this all the time when a jper flies around the hive.

    please. If you know what to look for, cloaking is near useless. I've trained myself to spot cloaked skulks, and besides, cloaking is useless on every other life form. All you have to do is get a shotgun or armor 1. You kill the skulks.

    Nice thoughts, but I think thats silly, why look at the resupply of Marines? least they dont get armour regeneration, as the aliens get with Regeneration. I think this is balanced and fine as it is.

    Or make the aliens call out as well, "Regeneration please" Chuckle"... honestly, leave it as it is, there are more pressing issues in CO than Resupply of the Marines, if you want to make it fair, let resupply slowly heal armour as well, instead of a stupid welder.

    Think about it, Marines have to run around and sacrafice a huge skill boost to get a welder, then to run around healing people is usually fatal in CO, its like making the gorge the welder for Aliens, aliens Regeneration should only be for there life points, and the gorge should be there armour healer.

    It is fine the way it is.

    There is a post in the suggestions forums about CO, there are some neat ideas in it, go read it, those are what need changing at the moment.

    Resupply Is Fine, if you cant kill a Jp'r then go back and practice, I find servers I play on are fine, and have no problems with resupply. As there are skilled aliens as well.

    Nerf, nerf, nerf, if people cant addapt and get some skill, its all lets "Nerf it"

    I think the main issue here is " I cant kill him, so there is something wrong with resupply, its not my fault I cant bite him."

    A good Jp'er should allways have a good chance of not being hit, but will get hit against a good Alien, Just like a good Lerk, will be able to do some hit and runs.

    Resupply Is Fine, if you cant kill a Jp'r then go back and practice, I find servers I play on are fine, and have no problems with resupply. As there are skilled aliens as well.

    Nerf, nerf, nerf, if people cant addapt and get some skill, its all lets "Nerf it"

    I think the main issue here is " I cant kill him, so there is something wrong with resupply, its not my fault I cant bite him."

    A good Jp'er should allways have a good chance of not being hit, but will get hit against a good Alien, Just like a good Lerk, will be able to do some hit and runs.

    problem to be hard to hit in a JP you need practicaly no skill.

    but to hit and kill a resupply JPer you need to be a freaking good alien

    Then people would do stoopid things, like bind mouse 1 <Insert impulse for med request> and bind mouse2 <isert impulse for ammo request>
    and run there ****'s around spamming them like no tommorow, only way to kill them would be devour.. =/

    Yeah, the problem with them spamming too much is a good point. That's why I suggested limiting the spammage to one drop per second or so.
