Yeah, its an old layout, but you get the idea. On your overview, the door doesn't seem to server much of a purpose. It's a large, slow moving passage, and a critical chokepoint. If marines cannot pass through the door due to aliens controlling Main Aft, they HAVE to go through engine or double/feedwater to get anywhere. On your layout, they can simply go around. It would be a great feature for a map if it serves a good purpose gameplay-wise.

Here's one suggestion... the weld point is easily defendable by aliens, but if welded opens a really fast path to the hive (ala Daimos, like the pic says). The aliens can get around it with that vent, and the door is a nice big chokepoint.
Anyways, to explain the layout, everything in red is my edits. They're quite extensive.
-On the lower right hand corner there is a yellow door outlined in green. Thats a weldable door, the weld is on the other side (Shown by the yellow icon outlined in orange). Welding this opens the door and speeds up the turning speed of the revolving door.
-In the bottem right hand corner also there is a vent thats spraypainted in green and one side is blue (it should catch your eye). Where the arrow points on that vent is where the vent should be low enough so marines can crawl in that side *only* not the other side of the vent. This should allow the marines to move through and weld the weldable easier than using the revolving door. Or it could become a marine despenser for a hungry onos waiting outside the vent, who knows?
-By marine spawn a vent exit is spraypainted in blue and green. This vent goes below the large room, and exits at the far wall at the very top of the room. The crude drawing on the right side of the photo below the legend is an illistration of this vent. The black is the room, the red is the vent.
-The infestation in the map (basically the "hive area") is where the spraypainted teal is located.
-In the upper left hand corner, there is a blue line right before the infestation. Thats a large blast door.
-In front of the blue blast door is a black "ladder line." The "ladder" should actually probably be a climable piece of infestation stretched across that area. Above the "ladder line" if you notcied is a little area behind it. This should let aliens ambush the incomming marines as they try to make their way up the ladder. I've also made sure that the marines cant get up to that little inlet behind the ladder line and shoot all the way down the infestation area.
-Below the revolving door is a pink square. This is a small passage that has a ramp on the infestation side of that wall that leads through that wall. It makes it so that aliens can deploy onos through that ramp without having to worry about marines getting through there at the same time (the exit is too high off the ground for marines to get into).
-Hive is at the colored in green area by the word "Hive" on the layout with the H inside it.
-Aliens spawn at the ugly yellow and orange blotch inside the infestation area.
-Marines spawn inside the pink cute little M area at the marine spawn.
I edited the layout so the game (hopefully) has endless action in the large room right outside the infestation area and marine spawn where players can immediatly spawn and rush out to shoot/bite/eat/whatever someone and just have plain fun without having to run too long. The lower area draws players to it, however, because of its tactical use. If marines get the weld welded, they should be able to pour into infestation area dangerously close to the alien hive and safely away from the alien spawn.
Meh, hope you like. I do, lol.
