No Gorge For Me In Combat?

The option just isn't there.
I don't understand it: I've watched people play NS for hours and know how to evolve to different life forms in combat. You right click and move the mouse over first gorge, and then whatever other life form you have enough points for. However, I don't have that option. When I right click, the only life-forms listed are lerk, fade, and onos, and I know you have to go gorge before going to any of the others. This is somewhat of a problem because by the time that I get focus, marines usually have level 3 armor and I can no longer kill in one bite. At that point, I'm pretty much useless to my team (partially because my horribly graphics setup gives me 4fps when there's lots of action). Several times my team has needed a gorge and I have been unable to help because I simply don't have the option of going gorge. Has anyone ever heard of/had this problem? AmI missing a simple detail that will let me go gorge? Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated; given my low frame rate I need something that can take more than one shotgun blast so I have time look around kill stuff

Umm well easily solved. Just bind a button to evolve into gorge, its in your config. A lot easier making binds instead of using your mouse and clicking errors tend to happen when you want to lerk but hit fade instead.

    bind "g" "impulse 114"

    Is Gorge

that will work, but it isn't an ideal solution - best advice I could offer would be to backup your config files and then reinstall NS

Yeah, this issue has been mentioned before in the Tech support forum. (*Cough*. )

Off hand, I think it was due to a mis-installation of one of the betas, beta4 (not beta 4a.)

Try just reinstalling that, then beta 4a on top. It should fix it. Otherwise, do as Shanks says and reinstall the whole thing.

Thanks a lot guys! I didn't do a search of the forums because no one I talked to online seemed to have ever heard of the problem. I did the binding thing and it worked perfectly. Now I can evolved stuff with enough hp to actually be useful

After playing NS for a while, and esp in combat super skulking can be obscenely fun, and usefull even at later stages of the game
