Done for my *cough*Furc*cough* site.
Well, since people here give such good C&C, I thought I'd post my stuff here before I actually used it. I used PhotoShop 8.0, around five different tutorials, a pepsi-fueled designing spree, and three hours (with heavy distractions) to achieve the result I got. What do you think, and what do you think needs work? smile.gif

Very nice, although I think the text in the 'off' is slightly above the 'line'.
Other than that, it's very nice. Would you mind pointing us to a few of those tutorials?
Q: Is your goal to make everything picked the same amount of times? (from j.walsh)
A: I don't think about it that way exactly. Sure it's good if there is a nice distribution and that is something to work towards, but really the goal in DotA's development is, first and foremost, to make the gameplay quality the best it can be. It is the combination of all the heroes, items and mechanics together that makes DotA what it is and not the individual elements alone. Sometimes that means certain things are carefully adjusted to be more frequent than others, sometimes it doesn't, but ultimately the main judge of a game's quality is not in some artificial balance metric, but in the overall gameplay quality and depth that it has.

Yeah, now that I look at it, it's not vertically centered...barely off. I'll fix that.

Ah, the tutorials. Of course. smile.gif
    The content box
    The matrix-y backround
The text is endlessshowroom, 83pt, with a drop shadow, stroke, and set to color dodge. I also had to play around with the settings of the matrixy stuff to get it to look right (make four huge white boxes as opposed to the one small one the tutorial calls for). The rest of the tuts were gridmaking and how to make a pipe (which didn't make it to the final cut...it had no point in being there).

It's fine. It's just the way LCD letterd are put together that makes it look that way.
