<div class="IPBDescription">Still working on it :)</div> So i'm still working on this map with two other guys now. Not many people have shown any interest. But I don't really care. I will take off the quote in a week or a few days or something. Anyways. This part of the map is being detailed now. Yay! Here is the stuff. Please leave comments etc.
Also before anymore texture and lighting flaming happens. I am a n00b mapper. And happy to admit. The lights and texturing will be changed later on as they are only there so I can look at the rest of the map actually in game.

Map ideas are:
Marine Start - Science parts of the base. As you can see.
Hive 1 - A broken down Marine Base. The Marines have retreated from there and relocated to the Science Labs where they must restart with the fast growing Kharaa.
Hive 2 - Canteen. Pretty simple. Canteen overrun. Might use that steak model lol. Tables been turned over, infestation coming from the hive. You know the stuff.
Hive 3 - Barracks. Again pretty simple. Gun racks tossed over. Can't pick up the guns. Security room ajoining at the back of the baracks. Need to weld into it. Has weldables in there which open certain doors and turn off some gas(maybe)<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I can't believe I'm still typing.
I will say this though, and people may call me lame for flaming you but here goes:
You are arguably one of the worst mappers I've ever come across. You have next to no style, you have no clue about architecture, your texturing is horrible and the lighting scheme combined with the blandness of the textures is painful to behold. You should give up now.
And next time - before you decide to put a screenshot (with swearing in it) on a forum of a game that is supposed to be for all ages - THINK! Why do you think that forum posts with swearing are automatically censored? If I posted a screenshot with a porn in it, I'd probably get banned - This is no different.
Shape up or ship out.

Maybe I should give up now.. I mean... When you first start mapping you must be great at architecture and amazing with the tools. So yeah... I suck.. So what? At least i'm trying. Plus Half-Life was rated 15. So all ages it isn't.

btw, constructive criticism, there is no reason to chastise him, too much, whatever profanity was there doesn't belong, and it's NOT a joke, but please move on people.
How would you make it look like an object is emitting the light? I know how to direct it etc. Just don;t know how to make something emit the light. Can someone point me in the right direction there?

As always when I see someone making a ns classic map, good luck with the map! NS needs more classic style maps with all those numerous combat maps. Now for comments...
I'm not going to criticize the lighting cause you told us it's there just so you could see how you put everything in your map (correct?). I'm very sure indeed your map would look way much better if you experienced a little with different lighting and put some good textures in it.
The biggest problem in your map is that your rooms look too small and hallways too narrow. Marine start looks small.. ofcourse there are exceptions like ns_nancy or I just prefer bigger areas.. but think about it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The architecture isn't bad considering you are new to mapping. Your rooms could use some more detail:
-using different levels, ie \_____/ /-------\ couldn't find words for them ;D
-support pillars are very good way to please eye and give aliens some cover
-used correct windows looking to space can widen your room. Use them in places that aren't actually very big.
-try thinking a theme for your map. Ie. If you are making a battlecarrier themed map and suddenly you are out of new ideas, try thinking what there has to be in that kind of space vessel.
I usually look for ideas in surrounding world. Just a little imagination.. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Dragoni - Ta for that adivece... The cryogen will change only a little for the moment. Mainly because it is small and directly next to Marine Spawn. Though have a res node in there might not be the best of ideas. I might move it further away and keep the node in there anyways. I know what you mean about the levels aswell... I'll add it all this week or next. Not sure what theme i'm going to have. I was thinking Eclipse but I might make it look like Mineshaft.
