really hiding them
Is there any way to remove an icon that is in the notification area, as in really remove it? Whenever I google it just says that "hide" option so you can just press the little arrows to pop them back up. I'd like to know if it's possible to remove a specific icon totally in order for it not to show up anymore.
Also, if it's not too much, is there any way to protect a process from being shut down by the task manager?

and why did ms have to call it the "xp notification area"? it's called teh system tray
well it's for my computer, and if it's to hide porn my dad would have done much much worse to me than just close it down...
Thanks Doom, that's the answer I've been (not) wanting to hear but at least I know my search isn't totally useless
