Couldnt Create A Online Server

<div class="IPBDescription">it keeps using my lan ip....</div> Can anyone help me to slove this problem??

everytime when i try to create an online server, dedicated or non-dedicated, it always keep creating lan games. Even i told it not to do so.....
Im sure it's something to do with my network set up between my pcs so that i can log both onto internet with just network cards, but i just couldnt firgure it out how to fix it, and i need both computers with internet access and im too poor to buy a router -_-

    type in sv_lan 0 in console.

    oh and if its using your lan ip, you need to find your real ip and stick the port after that. a site like www.whatismyip.com does the trick. If you're on a hub, it should be fine, but on a router, you'll need to forward the port to your computer.

    actualy it has to be changed in the server.cfg (if I remember correctly)

    You can change sv_lan after you start the server with no problems.

    Beware, www.whatismyip.com gives you the IP of your HTTP proxy if you've got one. I figured this out after much confusion whist trying to log into my telnet server. I kept getting some weirdo interface. Eventually I did a traceroute to the IP and it was a jump away and was called http-proxy.isp.net.au.
