<div class="IPBDescription">The addiction returns</div> The latest installment in the PSO series has done away with the stupid cards and gone back to its Diablo clone roots. It's also in <a href='http://members.cox.net/genleo/faq.htm' target='_blank'>open beta</a> right now. Oh, that's right, it's coming to PC as well.

It is, as the French say, "le awesome" but all the text is in Japanese, so if you haven't played PSO before, you won't have any idea as to what's going on. The length of the FAQ suggests that registering for the beta is a difficult, time consuming, and frustrating task, that's because it is. If you tried PSO but didn't like it then this isn't going to change your mind, so don't bother unless you are a die-hard PSO addict (somebody tell Geminosity).

What say any fellow addicts get together and play this? It certainly is hard enough to find English speaking players.

    Is this game coming to America?

    If it is I am sure as hell buying it. PSO = one of the few RPGs I've developed a tolerance for.

    I have no idea, but it's pay to play after level 20 (not in the beta of course), so that's a big turn off right there. Still, as long as they didn't <i>require</i> a credit card like in V2, I think it would be worth it.

    it's the exact some thing as ver 1 and 2 on the gamecube and Xbox as far as I can tell and I'm betting its not coming stateside seeing as PSO plus and PSO PC never did.

    but after playing up to level 171 on my main character on ver1+2, I don't think the addiction will be returning to me <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Well, I've played PSO online on the GC for a long time now. I don't think it has much more life left in it. It was fun for it's time though, I give it that.

    Uhh...what's wrong with plain old V. 1 for the PC?

    After all, PSO:BB is just Episode 1&2 with a few new tidbits :\

    Which is why I stick to the PC version. Yay for living in Hong Kong and sleezy importers! \o/

    They should change the game style with every episode, I say. Phantasy Star Online Episode IV: K.A.R.T. Revolution!

    If anyone plays the Gamecube games online and wants to go through Episode 2 challenge or give me some free cards, I'd like that, please post here.

    So it's the same as the Xbox version with some new stuff? I have the Xbox version, and I got to the end of Episode I with my level 38 character. I don't know the code for them, but it was a Female Hunter, not the android kind. Anyways, then my hard drive kind of broke so every game I had except Halo would constantly freeze between levels and I couldn't make any progress. When I got the Xbox back from the repair shop, all my saves were gone except the Halo and other game saves I had on my memory card - of course I could never get my PSO character onto the damn memory card. So I stand by my judgement "To hell with it. I'm playing Deus Ex, and that's all the RPG I'll ever get."

    There is nothing wrong with <a href='http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/rpg/phantasystariv/media.html' target='_blank'>new directions</a>, but there should be a limit to how boring, overcomplicated, unfun, and generally stupid those directions can be.

    Anyways, Leo block 3 seems to be the english player's unnoficial lobby, although it's hard as hell to find an english game there anyways.

    I can't say I'm overly interested as I loved PSO for it's unique real-time combat system but what's C.A.R.D. like?

    Argh, the signup is more trouble then it's worth. I followed all the instructions, but yet when I hit ok (at least that's what I think it says) at the end of the form, I get a big blob of gibberish thrown at me that I can't understand and I'm stuck there, appearantly.

    I really loved ep3 (OMG PEE ESS OH wit no completely mindless hancking and slashing? wootcakes!), but I stopped because everyone was in tournaments. some of those people were intournaments alone with computers to raise their rank. The others were almost all better than me. The only people in normal games either never started, completely sucked, or were rearranging their deck. So if anyone wants to ever play ep3, let me know.

    Hello!

    I'd hate Ep3 if I had to find matches, but since I'm playing with the Rllmuk people it's lots of fun.

    Ep3 is fun. The presentation and music is excellent, but if you've got no patience, it's obviously not for you. Online battles tend to last 20-30 mins, but it's a nice change of pace from Ep1&2.

    I'll begrudgingly admit that Ep1&2 is the superior game, but Ep3 is definitely worth a go.

    Considering the general popularity of the PSO games, they absoultly must bring it here, so I bet a full english beta is only a matter of time. That said, I think I'll wait for that.

    I mean, PSO for the PC has multi-language support, wouldn't make sense if they didn't have multi-language support for PSOBB.

    I've allways wanted to get into PSO hardcore, but never could because of the jackassery that involved getting the game for the cube, then connecting it to the internet (which wouldn't even work for me because on the internet, apparently) and NO KEYBOARD HOW CAN I TYPE JESUS. Also, if you check the offical PSO website then have a few screenshots. Two words. Quick Bar. Now I don't have to fumble in the L-menu for healing items.
