Please Someone Help, Too Dark To Play

<div class="IPBDescription">HELP!</div> <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> Hey, im running a 2.4 Ghz motherboard, 1024 mb ddr ram, Radeon 9800 pro 256mb, and all the latest drivers, on my desktop its all perfectly bright but when i join the game it goes so dark its unplayable, and if i leave the game my desktop is black again, and i have to restart my computer to fix it... but whenever i play any other half-life mod i.e. Counter-Strike, Battle Grounds, or even Day of Defeat, they're all fine with the brightness, please someone help!!! <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
