watch both E3 demonstration #1, and #2. the first was a blast, and the second just scared my socks off. looks like the game's gonna turn out well, from the looks of it

Eek, the game at normal seems pretty face paced. Kinda seems weird for a while. Otherwise I'm pretty intrested in the melee part of it, looks neat.

    Awesome, HL2 meets SS2.

I'm expecting great things from this game. Monolith are the kind of developer that you can depend on, their work is always fun and most impressively funny, a trait extremely difficult to achieve in the gaming entertainment genre.

perhaps, but this is anything BUT funny...am i the only one here that got freaked out by the mysterious silhouette in the elevator and the baby hidden behind the shades, in the 2nd video?

Scary too, of course, but still funny.

I'd more describe it as 'CS meets Max Payne' more than anything else, really. With the bullet-time activations, apparent unlimited ammunition, and complete lack of any form of real SHODAN... after all, she's what really made the series sing. A villain who's there all the time, watching you.. following you... talking to you. You're alone, and she's not too worried, but will kill you, and makes sure you know it, if you overstep your bounds.

That or maybe Max Payne: Resident Evil Edition.

The only problem is Monolith aren't exactly well known for the most stable games. Let's take a look at Blood II for a moment shall we?

Yeah, but drawing from a recent example, No One Lives Forever 2 was solid as a rock.

I've watched all the trailers, and boy does this look special. I don't know what you're talking about elite, the voice acting sounds decent to me. The effects pretty much define 'visceral', which is the kind of thing I like to see.

I'd see it's a combination of Die Hard, Resident Evil, The Ring and The Matrix, to name a few

wow, your hard to please. I thought the characters were quite convincing.

That looks like it'll make me crap my pants. 12am, lights off, playing this game with the monitor flickering and surround sound noises. I'm getting scared just thinkg about it.

there are three, count 'em 3, mysterious silhouettes in the second movie.
There's one in the elevator just before the lights go out
There's one just as the dude enters that room and the lights go out... again.
There's that one behind the grating just before the lights go out... for a third time.

Methinkests that they've run out of ideas...
Never the less, it's really creepy.

Elevator silhouette i didn't even see the first time (possibly due to the quality) but something within that scene DID make me feel uneasy.

The room silhouette made me say "wth was that?" and the scene directly after "wth, is that a skulk?!"

Third silhouette behind the grating made me s*** myself.

    Gawd i need this game.
    HL2, S.T.AL.K.E.R., and now F.E.A.R
All on my "to buy" list.

What about the guy crawling on the ground? Running out of ideas? No, it just let's you know you should be wearing diapers right then.

HL2, D3, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and now I need to have this. Darn it all! That's a good 200 smackers, and I'm sure i"ll end up wanting BF2 when it comes out...

SHODAN was the most annoying villian ever. Seriously I wanted to pour bleach down my ears everytime she said something. If we're going for a more sinister omnipotent evil-dooer I'd say Starkweather was way more intimidating. And didn't make me want to violate my ears everytime he spoke.

-EDIT- And I've either watched too much Hellsing or something but the military group in F.E.A.R sounds a lot like Hellsing TBH -EDIT-
