It could work...

Please have an open mind here...
Okay I was thinking... Monse is doing a great job and such PRing and I don't want to disturb his delecate plans, but if Natural Selection is complete, then why don't we release it without the servers so that we can get oriented in lan.

Now here is my argument to do so, (1)if in lan we can be more prepared with tech trees as commanders and such and this will promote the play of Natural Selection and prepare those who are just going to say, "This is tuff I'm not going to play this game anymore!"- (2)Releasing it early without servers until Halloween will also cut down on crammed up downloads giving it time to breathe so everyone has a copy by the 31st and are ready to play,

I can see where this would also be a bad idea with people getting bored in lan or doing lan parties and such, and especially the effects it will cause on the blitz and its disturbance of the manual release.

I am torn between both arguments and am just trying to make a point that releasing it early may not be such a bad idea because of... and the good reasons outway the bad, what do you guys think?

Didn't they say the game was still being polished? I think they should polish it all they can before release and get the installer as bug free and easy to install as possible.. That of course, would be more user friendly.

I know, I know, I can't wait for release either, but my gaming needs have been appeased with CS for the past few days.. it's good enough to hold me over. Or I could go outside and play basketball, but it's been rainy and crap outside.. need some sun!

yes I agree with you, maybe a small patch then so that it doesn't overload everything like a mass download would?

Nice try but I think you can wait three more days.

I could, but instead I say let's go put on fade costumes and terrorize the locals. Deal?

Instead of fade I got a great idea that could work- it involves a lot of duct tape 2-4 umbrellas and about 500 pop-sicle sticks but I think I can make a make shift lerk and jump off my garage throwing balloons filled with green paint unto innocent victims below!

Sounds good, too bad my stomach is having trouble with any thing more complex the soup, 500 popsicle would be a no no.

Jops...although you do have a point with server loads and pratice time for regulars in the forums...I have to agree with your later posts and flaya...you can wait three more days...though you have all been waiting much longer then me. And of course that it's the Dev's mod...and they can do whatever they want...whenever they want with it. Though I it was a nice idea to get it released now. : ) chuckles...ahhh evil.

    Two things:

One... The week is designed to spread the word of NS.

Two... If you release the mod 'without' the servers, you're still releasing the servers.
