<div class="IPBDescription">Should I Or Shouldn't I?</div> I'm tempted to go buy Battlefield Vietnam and add
to my engrowing debt. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Can you peep's provide some insight as to weather
its worth the ?30 or not? I'm mainly after info regarding
Single-Player life-span, multi-player life-span, alittle
patch info (is there 10+ 40 meg+ patches to download before
I can play it?)
Etc etc <the usual questions here>
Thanks

Multi-Player: Fine if you like the whole experience personally I'd go and play it down a LAN arena before you make any judgements
Patches: Only one so far and it isn't that big. Next big patch will contain new levels and vehicles though so it may be a little larger.
But due to the fact that the only computer connected to the internet only has 384MB ram and a crappy vid card, i wasn't even going to try running it online.
So i still haven't played it online, i've only played with bots.
(with only 2.0GHz of processor, it lags like a mofo)
I Still prefferred BF1942
And WWII > 'Nam
As for single player: where 1942 had this little campaign job slapped on (just the maps put in some specific order) this only has the single player mode where you choose a map and have fun killing bots. And they're stupider than ever so that didn't change. It's of course mostly a multiplayer experience.
I played BF1942 and mods at a friend's house and the local LAN center and loved it, but never actually owned the game. So this sort of gameplay is still semi-fresh to me and I certainly enjoy it.
I've had it since maybe a week after release and the multiplayer is still fun to me.
It is much different from BF1942. It invloves gurilla warfarw. You hide in the shrubery and ambush people.
The helicopter flight system kicks arse.
There is only 1 patch that you would need which is the 1.01 patch. It's 17 megish.
I love this game and can't get enough. Whoever said that a 2ghz comp lags SP with bots... yea, I can run 64 bots fine on 1.7 ghx.
I wouldn't suggest in unless you have at least 512 megs of ram tho.
Yes

yes
but the bots won't do it back
But then what about next round?
I absolutely love Battlefield Vietnam. Then again I loved BF1942 as well. Two of the top multiplayer games I've ever played. They are just really good. That's my opinion anyway.
Disable AA and AF. I hope they fix that issue soon enough. Fun game by the way.
ROFL... I wonder how the barrel of the gun tasted to that game when it pulled the trigger to end it's usefulness.
Other then the helecopters and weapons... the "Jungle warfare" was the only thing DIFFERENT about BF:1942, which can be turned off.
My sympathies to current owners. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
