Well i was just woundering, im kind of following on what Ryo-Ohki said.
How did some of these map make it to 3.0, were they in a rush to release the version therefore accepted any old CO maps because imho they could of got alot better quality maps, as alot of you may agree, dont get me wrong some can be fun to play, even though i dont really like Combat but they could of got alot better maps, for instance i think co_sava could of replaced some of the maps and many more, but what does everyone else think.

Anyway, I think NS should have more official maps. There are several maps that are really awesome, and I'm sure most (if not everyone) would love these maps.
Would be a nice idea to have a vote to enter the best NS and CO maps into version 4.1 or 5 or watever its gona be called.
And is it true about more gameplays being introduced such as Marines V Onos, someone told me it and i dont want more of these gameplays tbh
there are some maps that were included that were allowed on a "if you update/tweak" (co_rebirth, ns_delta, and a few others my mind slips on)... as you can tell, a few did *not* make it (i love delta, i want my ns_delta back!)...
the playtesters are currently tossing up new maps, and we have scheduled multiple map playtests in the comming weeks/months.
co_sava and co_ether have already been nominated, and scheduled for their official playtests. don't worry, the team is taking care of it. expect a nice chunk of new maps for beta5

as nice of a public review hydroisty has, there are certain people (like myself) that object with the whole of themselves against it being included in it's <u>current state.</u>
ns maps and co maps have been nominated as if there is no difference. these nominations come from the mappers themselves, forum readers, and moderators that get to clean up your dirty dirty threads <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And back to my first post, why is cores ReadyRoom so unalighned he seems like a good enough mapper, nice looking map but readyrooms basically a box?
When u first join it gives the impression that its a poorly made Level but once your in...everything just amazes you from the beginning.
From the stunning lighting to the amount of detail put into it ( One of the better looking co_ maps ).
Could be because he didnt have enough time to finish it an was pressed for time or because he simply couldnt be asked.
Im did release <a href='http://blueman.thezazi.net/ns_mystic.html' target='_blank'>ns_mystic</a> for 3.0 the week after release, but i doubt anyone did even download. It entered 3.0 playtests but got out due to r_speeds and entity count, which i managed to fix but not in time for official inclusion. It might be playtested again.
About the co maps, i must say that everymap included except core is really fun to play, i know some maps arent visually stunning as co_ether and co_poseidon but while we were playtesting the maps our first intentions was to make Combat maps the funniest they could be. how could there be old maps accepted if it was the 1º time we were doing this kind of maps? all maps were new and alot of pple participated and Flayra and devs choosed the ones they preferred.
Now we are gonna playtest some maps so to see if they deserve being official, and i think 2 or 3 will surely enter.
Why was ns_delta dropped by the way? It was a quality map <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
there could be more official ns_ maps, especially if mineshaft is dropped D:

Delta was the one with the hovertank bay wasn't it? That map owned.
Zazi's co_ambeke is also really good. Its quite big, multiple levels, nice effects, like fog. My only complaint is the pitch black lighting in areas and one or two doors breaking. Which are easily fixed.

On co_rebirth... will this map ever be fixed? Some mappers who have had their map denied official status specificially because of r_speed issues are probably feeling a bit insulted that this map that peaks over 1000 in several places is included as an official map. I have to leave servers when it comes on, as the visual lag is too much to handle. Was co_ambeke even released? I was under the impression that the map had a problem and it just was forgotten.
edit: /Looks down at signature. Well ns_fenris is being "remade" (yeah right, no progress has been made for probably 3 months, and I am not even working on it any more either), but it is a very nice map. I didn't really know why it had to be remade in the first place, it looked good already.
Exactly the same here. It started eating away at the FPS as soon as the lower level was created. Not sure what the hell happened but it should be fixed.
