Who's commanding?!?!

<div class="IPBDescription">Sil, eh,  what?</div>Why is it that in every screenshot from the marine's point of view (even the new ones) you can only see about 3 letters from the commanders name?  You can probably see whos commanding from the scoreboard but I'm surprised they didn't get rid of that a long time ago.  Anyone care to elaborate?

It just doesnt fit.  There's not enough room.  The fonts too big.

I honestly dont know, but I think it's hardly even an issue.  Press tab - you see COMM by the person who is commanding ..

Hopefully in 1.1 (or whatever is next) the commander label will scroll to accomodate long names...

You know what would be a cool effect? If the name scrolled back and forth at a reasonably slow rate so you could read the whole thing.

It will become annoying when someone in a clan is the commander and there's more than him from the clan.
Second Nature chose to use the clantag as a suffix so you could see bits of the commander's name.

Seriously though, the suggestion has been put forth before to better accomodate the commander's name.  Maybe it'll be improved in the next update/version.

I agree, during combat and base-construction, I've never really worried about WHO was commanding, since most of my conversations with him consisted of "need some ammo here!", "health health health!!!", "hive here!" or something similar.

However, it would indeed be a cool feature to allow the commander's name to scroll back and forth slowly, kinda like the song title display on the current version of WinAmp.

Yeah, this is one of those little issues that shouldn't hold up the release, but should be fixed in the future.  I'm sure it'll be fixed in the next update.

If you fix I'll be happy.  If NS becomes massively popular I want to be be able to say "hey, You know how it shows who the commander is at the top of the screen?  If it weren't for me it wouldn't scroll!"
