I was thinking about the two as I was unfortunate enough to be digesting while our comm beaconed. Beacon recalls all marines from on the map, why shouldnt it do so from within the stomache of an onos?

There are just things like story and atmosphere, but there´s no place in nns for that :/
Because digest takes a long time to kill and if marines can just beacon out of it then a devour kill would never happen. The marine could just tell the comm when he's close to dying and they would beacon as soon as the onos runs.
yep, the commander would most likely always opt out of losing 25 res worth or marine as opposed to only paying 15 res to make sure he doesnt die. If not he has to pay 25 res to reoutfit. Basically, it would be cheap and devour kills would never happen to HA. Your only choice left for killing Ha would be stomp and chomp with skulks, but beacon would stop that too so...
