[con] Very Early Cencept

RhodriRhodri Join Date: 2003-06-21 Member: 17575Members

Please leave feedback and C&C
Okay, this is only the second cencept I've ever drawn so I think it's fair to say I'm still fairly new to this but any idea what more I should add to this (based on the H&K G36 rifle). I'm debating wether to add a stock or not but currently quite like the look of it how it is. Please note: this is no where near finished but it's 20 past 12 and I've got work tomorrow so I'm off to get some sleep.

Cheers, Rhodri.

no, that part contains the space the receiver needs to reload from the mag...
uhm.. 1 glitch, the reload handle should be in the fron position.
looks like a bastardisation of g36 ,thompson, and uhm... some kind of kitchen tool...oh.. and the trigger and the trigger guard is awfull.. a little bit smaler would be cool.. kinda reminds me on a mp5 hhmmm

More than dead: The model looks nice, as the concept did, but you seem to be using a few extra polies.
    Here's my tip for you:
Think about what will be seen in game. In game you normally only see the left hand side of the model. Therefore you don't need all the details on the right hand side to be modelled, it just has to look the general shape.

I'll attach a pic in a minute showing you the bits which could be removed from the right hand side.

Edit: Removing these bits of detail which will never be seen will save you a hundred polies or so I'd guess. Also, it will not detract from the quality of the model.

maybe it's jammed sorry im going on holiday for a bit but I'll change it when I get round to it. Yeh I did take inspiration from a WW2 Thompson and an Mp5 a bit aswell for the grip.

    Cheers, Rhodri.

PS - Ok rushed it a bit but I've got to go in 2 minutes so see you all in a bit.

looks good so far now to the grip trigger part.. you could do the grip bigger, so it would be a smg then..or you do the trigger and the guard smaller, it would be a assault rifle then..
looks nice.. only the proportions are not exact
