PaintShop Pro is practically a cut down version of Photoshop.

How does it help you model?

I personally like Photoshop better because it has more tools but Paint Shop Pro is a lot cheaper.

If you REALLY want a good modelling program get MilkShape.

Download a trial version of milkshape, or gmax. If you can't figure those out on your own (some can, alot can't) then either give it up, or take a class, or buy a book or 5.

GMax and MilkShape are both free. Even though MilkShape is a trial, it is fully useable after it's needed registration date. Gmax is just free.

If you actually get into modelling, though, you better pay for Milkshape. It is a wonderful and cheap modelling program and deserves credit.

As far as skinning, I don't have much experience... but if you're looking for a graphics program like Photoshop, try The Gimp. It's just as powerful, and freeware.

Uh, it isn't time to try to learn how to code if you give up something you were dead set on after seeing how much downloading it requires. These things take commitment; I reccomend a nice, beefy Book.

First of all, this does not apply to NS. Second of all, it isn't about modelling exactly, but how to get into it. Third of all, this was posted before the new forums were put up.

Indeed, the web tutorials on C++ that i've found are highly disorganized. A systematic approach that good book would give is what I'm asking my dad to find.

Oh, and this was started before the new forums.
