And this is why I hate windows, random stupid errors with error messages as understandable as a russian waiter being electrified reading a spanish dictionary... anyways.
About a week ago I had installed some codec pack so I could watch some movies of NS, TFC, the usual junk. Someone sent me one of those handy codec packs that has everything, and having used them before (I re-installed recently), I went ahead and instealled it. Videos played fine, I was happy.
Forward a day, any form of music program gets an error on loading now, which I can dismiss. Most songs, 15 seconds or so in, get the error you see below. I tried rebooting, deleting the codec pack, re-installing winamp. WMP, installing a new codec pack, nothing works. I went thru about 3 pages on the windows knowledge database trying every random crap thing I could find that sounded remotely like my problem, googled it till the end of time, but still no luck. And reinstall is downright outta the question, I just did that, whine whine, I know So, any ideas? Just the most obvious answer, sigh
I think the more tech work I do, the dumber I become since the easy soultion never works for customer PC's because they are always too broken.
