<div class="IPBDescription">Hmm</div> As Penny Arcade poited out a while ago, "Normal Person" + "Anonimity"= "Crazy ****". But there is Xbox live- you have a single name, gamertag, and soon(xbox live 3.0) will have video, so anonimity will be 0. That seems pretty cool to me.

But those that have it now- is it worth it? What are its main games?(give at least 5). I'm getting cable soon, and can get it, so I think I will <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

This does not sound like a good idea...

    and penny arcade is.. god?

    -anonimity = fun = win.
-a "gamertag" (<span style='color:white'>inappropriate and unnecessary</span>) is not really a good idea, its a step backwards.. or forwards for consoles i suppose. making changing your name harder/impossible/cost money is completely stupid.
-just because the camera's there, it doesn't mean you have to use it.

also <a href='http://www.microsoft.com/games/xbox/default.aspx?sort=xbox-live' target='_blank'>list of xbox live games</a>, you will have to check the reviews/ask yourself.

Why would it be a step backward? Penny Arcade had a good point, and people don't usually change their name unless for joke reasons(and don't mention clans- Xbox live has them, just a diff system).

I've heard good things about X-Box Live, but I must also interject another Penny Arcade opinion: <a href='http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2004-04-21' target='_blank'>http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2004-04-21</a>

The things mentioned in that strip could be said of 99% of online games :-]

Yeah, not just Live. Its just that Penny Arcade are mostly consolers, so tah-dah.

I don't have Xbox Live, but my cousin was a beta-tester and still has an account. The only online game he has is basketball, which he enjoys, but I don't (only problem is people can pause it, and first to quit loses, but that goes with the Penny-Arcade coming, since only [insert expletive here] pause during a game and leave just for a win.

    Some games:
ESPN NFL Football (2004, I think, made by Sega)
    Mechassault
    Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder (okay, just an expansion...but it's cool)
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
    Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - downloadable levels (or OXM game discs)
Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - is supposed to have downloadable content only, but haven't tried/gotten it yet.

...Those are ones I've had some form of play with, at least. Only played TC-RBS3 for a few minutes, but it looked pretty fun. TC-GR is pretty fun. TC-SC:PT is a little better with Xbox live, because basically everybody has a better chance to use a mic.

Personally, I'm waiting for Halo 2...I only have one cable in my room, and that's the only game that's getting me to take the cable out of my computer for a few hours.

jokes/fun/just for the heck of it/trying out a new name/someone else playing etc. theres a lot of reasons why someone would want to change their name, taking that ability away just because ms want to make 'the evil evil internet full of criminals' more friendly is a step backwards.

I would be pleased, however if they changed the gamertag to an account-name-tag and let you change your nickname/alias ingame. ie [name] nick: hello.

If you're into sports, EA and Microsoft just partnered up so all of EA's games will go Live. Also, you've got Pandora Tomorrow and Rainbow Six 3 for your shooter action, Counter-Strike too but there's no real reason to bother with that if you've got a PC. Crimson Skies, Mechassault, and Project Gotham Racing 2 are all good Live-enabled games, and obviously Halo 2 on November 9th. The few RPGs for the Xbox all pretty much have downloadable content, too. I believe they added an entire world to KOTOR, and Fable will almost certainly have some goodies when it comes out.

All in all, it's a good deal. I certainly plan on getting Live as soon as I pick up a Xbox.

Project Gotham Racing 2 is brilliant. They've just released new content for it (Paris and new cars) which costs £3. If anything, Live needs more quirky titles, like puzzle games or Worms, you know. Should be getting Tetris Worlds delivered today. :O

My tag is Flint Paper if anyone fancies a race.

Actually, 3.0 is delivering a ton of quickie puzzle & action games, according to the Microsoft lineup thing.
