<div class="IPBDescription">Only a quater scetched.</div> Yeah. Me and some other guys are about to start making a map ns_horus. We have ideas but are well... n00bs to mapping. I know some stuff from mapping for CS but I found NS is alot harder <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> But anyway. This might be a little big. And it is open for anyone to edit to improve. It is the overview for the marine's starting wuater of the map. Please make suggestions and you can edit any of the overview you want. I will soon make 3 others hopefully before the weekend and put them up on this topic for editting.
I'm looking for Feedback from anyone. You can test what i've done by PMing me and becoming a Beta Tester. I will get 5 of these max. Mainly because the best way for feedback is by getting it from someone who has played the map. PM me for becoming a Beta Tester and I will get the map sent to you with the required models.
Map ideas are:
Marine Start - Science parts of the base. As you can see.
Hive 1 - A broken down Marine Base. The Marines have retreated from there and relocated to the Science Labs where they must restart with the fast growing Kharaa.
Hive 2 - Canteen. Pretty simple. Canteen overrun. Might use that steak model lol. Tables been turned over, infestation coming from the hive. You know the stuff.
Hive 3 - Barracks. Again pretty simple. Gun racks tossed over. Can't pick up the guns. Security room ajoining at the back of the baracks. Need to weld into it. Has weldables in there which open certain doors and turn off some gas(maybe)
Pic/s is/are a bit large. Sorry about that. It is due to my 1600x1200 resolution so I find it easier to make it this big. Again. Sorry.
Anyways. Here is a really shabilly done overview of the marine quater. Please edit and make suggestions.

Thanks to all the support, Hints, tips and info i'm getting from you guys and will probably get in the future.
Thanks to people working with me to make this map.

And that top corridor into the marine start is bothering me not only being maybe to much in favour of the marines, but also r_speeds wise since you can look into the marine start from a long distance and also see some other rooms.
Edit : I'll stick a vent from Y Junction into Specimen Testing. Just opposite the other vent. Will that work?
Things to keep in mind for designing a layout:
- gameplay/flow
- resnode placing
- possible lockdown places for the marines (layout or the placing of weldables)
- keep it simple enough so player can learn the layout with ease but do keep things interesting
linkage with some nice info (also stickied <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

Yeah i'll change the lights. Considering i'm really a n00b at maps. First NS map. And I know there is an edit button. Why do you think the first post keeps changing? Get the hint?
