A disk read error eh?

<div class="IPBDescription">Is this really bad?</div>I'm wondering..my main comp just got a disk read error.
heres what i was using at the time
-Winamp
-Realplayer
-AIM
-IE

And suddenly my comp restarted itself and gave me this error.
I've been in the BIOS and tech support, and i'd just like some help.
(BTW tech is sending me some system recovery cd's but they don't come till the 31st)
btw my comp is a pavillion 7955

    Like CPU? Ram? Operating System?

    disk read error usually means that it can't read the disk can't be read, i dunno much about ur comp, but i think your hardrive went pewp, if its moderately new it may be still under-warranty, and if so you might luck out and get a replacement free.  Other than that, the only other thing i can tell you is try and take out the hd and check if a diff comp recognizes it...
