I tried my hand at a starfield. I've always wanted to know how to do this stuff. Good find, Zig <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The star field needs work, though. It looks like you quit about halfway through the tutorial. :/
PS: Holy crap! Either Dubbilex or A Boojum Snark just won this thread. I'm not sure which though. We'll have to put them in the battledome.
One thing: if your planet has water, you're going to need some cloud cover.
Bleh, Im a nub at PS, no idea how to make good looking clouds <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

When you add a starfield, remember to think about the lightsources on your planet. If the bright part of the starfield is to the bottom left the planet wont be highlighted at the top <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->
