Samurai Champloo
<div class="IPBDescription">New series by creator of Cowboy Bebop</div> Well the first episode of Samurai Champloo just aired on Japanese TV.
This is Shinchiro Watanabe, of Cowboy Bebop fame's, new series. It can best be described as... Hip hop meets Samurai fighting.... yup..
Some very very very awesome animation during the fights. You can tell that a lot of people will be praising 'the style which oozes from it's every crevice', and I'll probably tend to agree with them.
It's hard to tell from the first episode where this is going to head as the first episode, like many series, is mainly an introduction to the characters and to show off some awesome sauce.
It's already been licensed for a North American release, so expect a DVD release to happy quite quickly.
So yeah. Try and get your hands on this series, it'll be worth the effort.

<a href='http://toufqb.free.fr/momotato/pics/champloo.avi' target='_blank'>Short clip from a fight scene</a>
Enjoy.
Random bit of Trivia: The voice actor for Mugen (The hip hop samurai) appears to be the same as Roronoa Zoro's from One Piece. I believe his name was Nakai Kazuya from memory.

EDIT: Wow, in true Bebop style, the music is KICKASS.
Geneon got the license. It's to be expected from the big name series these days though. The whole process of a North American DVD release is significantly shortened. It's all good news for the consumer, but bad news for the anime fan looking for free subs.
Well, depending on how good I hear it is, I may try to pick up a DVD of it.
(Tied up together at a prison)
Mugen: So it wasn't a dream? When all of a sudden the fire...
Rin : That wasn't a dream
Mugen: Oh? If I remember right....You were naked in the tub...
Rin : That was a dream
There are rumours of A-S picking it up, which would be awesome. They did a good job with ROD the TV.
Too. Cool.
