Is Avg (free Thing) Any Good?

Scanned my computer with AVG earlier (free one), fully updated, found 0 viruses.

Scanned with Trend Micro online scanner thingy, 54 viruses.

Sometimes AVG tells me it detects a virus, then i scan and it says theres nothing there. Most of the time it detects nothing while other programs do.

Anyone else had this?

I wouldn't use it as it caused my system to become extremely unstable
