Marine walking and running animations
Last thing I'm sure the development team for Natural-Selection wants is for everyone to start nitpicking their only trailer so far. So with my comments please try and take them with as much postive thought as possible.
The only thing (as I've said before) about the trailer that made myself feel a bit "uneasy" was the walking and running player animations. I don't see how the quality, codec, or method of creating the trailer can be apart of this - so, on to the constructive (hopefully) suggestions.
I tried to take a few screen caps that looked half-decent from the trailer. If you can't understand what the picture actually is then I apologize for the extreme pixelness.
First capture is the Marine running to build what looks to be the Armoury. As you notice the knees when the leading leg is put forward is too high, and makes it (as the humorous Freemantle pointed out) look like the marine is prancing. I'm sure that wasn't the intention upon design but this is the impression I'm getting through watching the trailer. My own personal opinion (through having no idea as to how create animations) is lowering the height of the knee to a respectable level, and possibly some torso movement.

Second is the "Heavy Armored" Marine's animation. Throughout the trailer these animations look fluid, realistic, and as expected - great. I think the result is because if you watch the trailer the "Heavy Armored" Marine doesn't lift the knee unhumanily high, which it shouldn't wearing all that heavy equipment.

The Marines walking animation after watching the trailer a couple more times (I'm addicted to Natural-Selection--help me) it doesn't look "too" awkward and I couldn't put my finger on what the culprit was making the animation look un-natural. Although one fact is that the change of pace from the walking animation to the "prancing" running animation makes very odd and unrealistic transistions in speed and movement, and would probably be fixed, to a point, after the running animation is re-worked.
I hope the development team takes this as a previously stated, constructively as possible. Knowing that you've set a release date I don't want to throw any more angst that you've all probably have gotten about little nit pickings and will get after more view the trailer. Everything I've see is superb when it comes down to this modification that I've witnessed so far (old forum member from around January--new account).
If anyone "official" could reply about possibly re-working the animations before or in a consecutive update (which I would presume as the actual answer). It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for developing such a superb mod (as my clan mates really need something to "sink our teeth into", quite literally), haven't been this excited for a Halloween since Elementry school.

Also, chances are, in game, you are probably not even going to notice it...
As MonsE said, "You walk into a room, look up, and an alien is falling on your face"
By the way, def_one animated the marine, so you can take his word as gospel. Cheers.
silly human didn't understand
