Any Accident You Can Walk Away From...
Yeah I'm such a nerd for coming on and posting this... but yeah anyway.
Driving along to work I was going along this dark unlit road, I see 2 cars on the side of the road with their headlights off and blinkers on. (Right hand side lane... or the ummm... incoming traffic lane for you yanks)
1/10th of a second later, there's a tractor with no lights on doing a u-turn in the middle of the road.
Slam brakes on, hit the freaking tractors bailer, get thrown around my seat.
Couldn't get out my side door (Tractor had crushed it closed) so I had to crawl over my passenger seat out. At first I thought I had broken my arm. But I must have just slammed against it so it's fine.
Got out shaken as all hell.... By some miracle the front of my car is absolutely gone and my interior was intact. So I took nearly none of the impact save for my right arm. I do not have a single bloody bruise on me and I was going 80kmph into the 'wall' of a tractor.... @_0
Ambos rock up, I get taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. I sit there for a while under observation, parents rock up.. police come for a statement (Turns out the tractor is unregistered, unlicensed and uninsured. He is screwed) they leave, I go home nice and stiff.
Any accident you can walk away from is a good one people.
Got home and had 3 shots of Vodka to stop the shakes... works well. I'm going to bed... bleah.

I was in a car accident myself late last year.
we were heading north along a 6 lane highway in the middle lane when a 4WD in the right lane swerved to miss a rather big red bucket on the road (WTH <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->). the 4WD lost control and came across into our lane and stopped, blocking the lane. Needless to say we T-boned it.
The front of the car was totaled but all of us walked away from it (my sister fractured her wrist).
moral of the story, car accident's are not cool.
Yep...any accident indeed.
basically, a tiny corolla or something was racing up the road with 4 drunk ppl in it, lost control or drifted or something, hit the back of our big fat chrysler voyager [its been smacked up like 3 times in past year or something.. bad luck car], and that deflected/whatever it into a tree
i have to say im pretty impressed with how crumple zones work
the car was absolutely totalled, crumpled up like a coke can with windows, it smashed our tree up, ripped bark out and everything, broke our wall =\ and screwed over some plants, and chucked bricks from our mini-wall a few metres into our driveway... narrowly missing our new mazda 6 ...
moral of the story is, flashing police/ambulance lights are exciting at first, but after a tiny bit they just become really really annoying <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
the lights ahead of us (ie the ones whos path we were crossing ) had just changed and everyone was turing from tehre so we went across, i was passenger on left side, looking at radio, next thing i hear is screeching, a big blue 4wd landrover or something with a big **** bullbar ... was blue ... anyway .. it was goin like 60kmh at us downhillish. slammed on brakes .. still goin abut 50 when he hit us .. my door
i was only one injured. all i got was 3rd degree whiplash and some burns on my arm .
but the thing i remember most was i had no shoes on .. couldnt get out of my door because there was a 4wd there <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> so i went out the driver door and osme girls were walkin along to path .. one of them yelled out "watchout ! theres broken glass"
i just stood on it and went "WTH NO ****! accident .. glass .. DUH!"
i thinki was a bit shaken <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
He opened the driver's side door and stepped out of the car.
Not a scratch.
He then attracted the attention of another car, whose driver happened to be an off-duty firey. The car then had to be winched up the cliff. He then got a taxi to a nearby town and got a rent-a-car and drove the rest of the way to Brisbane. He came off while he was overtaking on a road that was being rained on for the first time in ages so the surface was really slippery. The only thing he broke (Other than the car) was his MP3 player which I pulled apart and repaired.
Lucky lucky bastage.

P.S. Four aussies in six posts! Woo, we're taking over.
This begs the question of what the hell he was doing driving around cliffs at 90km/h in reverse...

Or you're all just **** drivers <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I have only been i 1 bad wreck, its when a guy hit me going about 60 or 70 mph (he was speeding very much, limit was like 45) and i was at a STOP because some elderly people were in front of me and you know how they slow to like 2mph to turn into a driveway. Its a miracle they turned when they did cause they were only out from in front of me for a fraction of a second when I got hit. Trunk buckled down into the rear tires and my car skid about 30 feet.
Amazingly, no injuries on me at all other than a stiff neck for a few days. The idiot who hit me wasn't wearing a seatbelt and he bust his head on his steering wheel, but other than a headache and some minor bleeding he was okay too.
What was really wierd was when I was hit, my seat BROKE and it just flew backwards and layed down on the floorboard, so I was like looking straight up when I got hit.
Funny part of the whole deal: As soon as I realized what had happened I called 911 cause I figured no way the other guy wasn't hurt, so I was trying to get out of my car and then I realized I had no shoes on. The force of the impact pulled my shoes right off my feet! So there I am talking to the 911 operator who I just told I had gotten into a very bad car accident, and then I'm like "hold on a second, I gotta put on my shoes". heh.
If this happens again and you die, can I have your DVD collection?
No?

Today a family of 3 was killed driving down the interstate as a 40 ton gurder fell on them. They were killed instantly and a 40 ton bar of steal closes down I-70 this morning (I think it's still clodes...)
Just be glad you survived! WOW! 80kmph!!!

phhhhrrrtttt they're all getting buried with me. XXXXL Coffin.
It's weird recalling the crash because I can remember exacetly what happened right up untill the impact.
1.) I see 2 cars on the side of the road and wonder if they're helping each other out cause of a breakdown
2.) I see the tractor and think "oh, that's a funny place for a tractor."
3.) I think "F***, that's a bad place for a tractor."
4.) Screaming... and impact.
It was an extremely lucid and surreal experience for me... because I was quite coherent and responsive during the whole ordeal. I don't remember the crash well... but I remember everything else in great detail after that.
Including the pain...
A SOFA.... Someone had to have collided in it I'm sure..
I've been in an car accident when I was small, but I don't remember. Apparently we skidded into this little pit whatever thing next to the round. Luckily it was a soft landing and we didn't get anything. Seat bealts rock <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
he got T-Boned by a tractor (OW)
basicaly, the tractor hit the drivers side, crumpling the door.
Anyway, lucky you. I'd have probably mouthed off at the tractor driver for a bit <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Of note : the photo is taken from the bridge, and the bus was (of course, as this is the US) on the right side of the road. That means it flipped at least once on the way down. 3 people were killed, two in the front of the bus, and a third in the back. A fourth died later in the hospital. The two killed in the front were on the left side, and my cousin was the next seat back.
Went to the hospital to see her, she was in the intensive care unit and it was filled with Seward kids. One looked dead. All looked very not pleasant. My cousin, however, had not one mark on her.
In happier news, I'm off to her graduation later today. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

ummm no...
The tractor decided to do a U-turn in the middle of the road, with no lights, and I T-boned him.
And my car crumpled around the tractor.
I thought he tboned you when doing the U-Turn
that hurts also.

State troopers look at the top half of a Dodge
Durango that was eastbound on I-70 when a
bridge girder collapsed just after 10 a.m.
Saturday, killing the man, woman and child
inside. The lower half of the vehicle traveled
another quarter-mile. Officials hoped to get the
girder off the freeway by this morning.
It was being added on to a bridge. They were making an offramp.
It fliped on it's side, bent and crushed a family...
I'm a psycho.
"He's dead Jim!"
