Quick Question Regarding Athlon Processors

3.0 ghz
3.2 ghz or
3.4 ghz.

I'm currently running an AMD Athlon XP 2800+
and that runs at 2.25 ghz.
I'm slowly but surely saving my pennies for that
uber-system i've always wanted, 3 gig of DDR RAM

It'll take me a few months to get the cash together
but I want to know about whats going on in the world
of CPU's, mobo's, RAM and so on.

Well, if an uber-system is what you want, you want the AMD 64-FX 53. I believe it clocks in at 2.4 GHz, but it's a 64-bit proccessor, so it's better than a 2.4 GHz 32-bit processor. As for their 32-bit processors, I must admit a lack of knowledge.

As for the vid card, you want the ATI X800 PE (Platinum Edition). I think it's out now. If you're an <span style='font-size:4pt;line-height:100%'><span style='color:black'>pitiable</span></span> NVidia fan, the GeForce 6 Ultra is the way to go.

As for that 3 gigs of RAM, make sure it's PC3200 - also known as 400MHz RAM. It's some of the best out there, as I understand it.
