Smoothing Groups

does each group have to have a smoothing group or can we just leave some groups flatshaded for it to work in half-life.

If that's true, then it couldnt possibly be true...flat shaded is so useless. wireframe shade = the only solution for picking out errors.

Leaving models unwelded (=flatshaded) will look better on some models with a certain look, and unwelded parts can give a better look to certain model parts. It all depends on the model you are working on, there is no
