<div class="IPBDescription">OMG this film ROCKS</div> Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has seen the film Equilibrium?

I just watched it. Id only seen it once before ages ago, and I couldnt really remember it (being back in my drug addict years).

OMG this film is amazing, ok ill admit it, I nearly cried where he has that dog.

And that woman the get executed is soo good lookin!

Just wondering if anyone else has seen it?

Its one of those non-hyped up films that not too many people have seen, buts its so good, one of my favourites.

Yeah, a great stylish noir-esque action flick...I love it. If you like movies like that, check John Woo's Hardboiled and the Killer...both are equally incredible.

I would venture no one's really interested because it's in french (?) and that guy on the front page looks weird...

I'm going to have to rent some movies when I go back home tomorrow (finally get to play online multiplayer without lag again, woot [ job or multiplayer gaming....hmmm]).

Equilibrium is a great movie, in my opinion. Especially the gun katas. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Better still Christian Bale (?) is Batman! I always thought he would be great after seeing Equilibrium, so I'm looking forward to that.

Oh, and Equilibrium rocks, far better than the Matrix imo.

    Flaw numero uno.

"I am a Grammaton Cleric. I detect emotion wherever it lies, and exterminate it. Curses, foiled by a 9 year old. Damn."

    Flaw numero deux.

"In the future, all evil servants of the oppresive state shall wear motorcycle helmets. <b>All the time.</b>"

Sorry, that film is full of more holes than a tramp with a moth problems socks. Bad, bad bad bad film, imo.

When you've lived a life without emotion how difficult do you think it'd be to really be able to understand it well enough to spot it? =P

Equilibrium has brilliant action scenes and little else. A hackneyed, lifted plot, incoherent structure and Sean Bean dies. End of.

    Shockwave and tequila need help.

    Read Fahrenheit 451.

    Watch the movie again.

If you still hate it go rent XXX and kill more brain cells.

It was a very good film. Great action sequences and a very nice true to sci-fi storyline. But with any movie that attempts to raise a more relevant idea than "Can I really skydive with a motorcycle strapped to my sack and land in the camp of highly trained mercenaries and execute all of them with a BB gun?" American rejected it, IE 28 days later.

Anyhow anyone who reads sc-fi and liked F451 will like this film.

I think part of the problem with this film not getting wide acclaim from the public is that they saw it and immediatly thought "Matrix ripoff" and avoided it. Hell even the main lead (whose character names escapes me right now) looks, acts and sounds like Keanu Reeves playing Neo.

I watched a bit of this recently (mainly the fighting sequences), as I heard a lot of people raving about its awsome fight scenes.

The fighting used is Muay Thai Kickboxing, and it does get pretty brutal (elbows to the head from the air), as in WWFish brutal, minus the fake. In fact, I think they tried to make the fighting a bit too real (kudos for the lack of CG and wiring), but when people can hit, all you hear is a light *pat*. Probably what you hear in real life, but when you hear it in a movie, its VERY disappointing.

I do admit that the main character pulls off some pretty outstanding acrobatics and hits, but it isn't really as stylish as I had hoped - just the mean brutal/ugly type of fighting.

Probably just me though, cause I was pretty disappointed by the majority of the action in Equilibrium as well, (yes, I am aware they were running on a tight budget).

Hey, I just realized the white coat the cleric wears is the same thing Bruce Lee wore in the beginning of Fist of Fury... another movie where I wasn't actually impressed by fighting, but rather by the charisma and viciousness Lee himself exerts. Go check out the oldies.

    heck, I'm picky with action...

    the best thing is....

the other clerics can feel that he is weakened and feeling... that is surely a feeling in itself?

Theres a difference between sensing someones weakness and feeling an emotion.

I thought the plot was okay... but so cheesy, action sequences were great (especially when he skids on into the room of rebels on that door, twas amazing) but at the same time I couldn't help but feel that that gun kata stuff (while cool) was just an excuse to get people shooting in power ranger style poses.

Was worth watching and really enjoyable but lots off little niggly bits that prevented it from being better than the matrix (which I loved, so much better imo)

I saw the movie last year on my campus. One guy had it on his lab tap and it was high **** quality. Watched like the middle to the ending.
