Trailer movie animations

Who did the great animation and rendering on the NS trailer?  I really have to say that's some of the best animation I've seen outside of movie animation houses.  The bodies actually looked like they had mass while moving around.

Not to mention that the in-game animations were just as good.  It's nice to see players that don't look light as a feather.

3D animation is one of the areas I want to go in to (besides my concept art skills), is there anywhere I can start looking in to for animating this way?

    1. The animations were done by Def_One and Cory, I do beleive.

    2. Thank god, Animators are running thin nowadays. Check out my <a href="http://www.moddev.net/articles.php?article=106" target="_blank">my tutorial on getting started.</a>

    Heh... man, I STILL can't get over the fact that release date has been announced... oh man...

    I see only part one of that tutorial, where's part two?

    Ah well, I already know the basics of 3D work, I'm mainly looking for information on how to properly show mass in moving objects.

    I'm all set to play NS, even went out and bought headphones with a mic attached.  My local lane gaming place has Half-Life on all the systems, so it'll be interesting to get a large scale game going.

    There is no part two yet <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

    Pick up those books I mentioned in the tutorial- That's what'll teach you the basics of making things move. Trust me on this one.

    Nope, while I'd love to take credit for them,  Def One did all the anims and rendering for the pre rendered part of the trailer himself.

    And yes, they are amazing  <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
