Well Look What I Found!

We cleaned out the basement.
We were cleaning out the basement today and I found my old Nintendo 64. You never learn to appreciate something unless you're without it.
I was planning to go down to Vintage Stock tomorrow and pick up a few games for it, any suggestions? (I only still have a few games for it, the others we sold or something.)

Mission Impossible .
Edit: oh yeah, and if you're into wrestling at all, the best wrestling game I've ever played is WWF no mercy on the 64
edit looks like I didn't read the entire post. Anyway Mario Tennis is great, no matter how boring it sounds it gives you almost the same suspense as a ns game. You should really buy it.
a regular basis. I'm yet to find a game as much fun
as Lylat Wars on those levels where you can go into
"Free-Roam" mode and shoot down a target number
of ships.
FUN!
Yes, probably the best Multiplayer game for N64.

How dare you suggest that POS. I really couldn't stand how linear that game was.
Try Mystical Ninja 64. DY, Lylat Wars is Star Fox right? Is that what they call it where you live?
Hybrid Heaven - The best RPG I've ever played. With lashings of Sci-Fi. And a combat system based on Close Combat fighting.
Trust me, it works.
I hate to be offensive, but the N64 is a hunk'o'junk. Don't bother getting stuff for it, outside of the zeldas and mario's. The game didn't even have a metroid, for the pete's sake!
Paper Mario's supposedly halfway decent, but I haven't played it.

TBH Each to their Own
The N64 was the console that first got me introduced to this whole "console" thing.
And I had loads of fun with it. Shadows Of The Empire oozed Star Wars flair, Goldeneye had all the spy action (Although I thought The World Is Not Enough was cooler) and it had some amazing games (Like Body Harvest and Hybrid Heaven that didn't sell that well but they were amazing.
Top simply say that the N64 "sucked" and that the only good games were the Mario and Zelda ones is really selling the console short.
That and the controller kicks so much ****. The PS Controller? Don't make me laugh, that thing sucked.
N64 = one of the best console controllers ever.
That is all.

I rented Perfect Dark for my N64, never bought it. And all the cartridges I got were fine. It amy have been a faulty cartridge is all you gotten. Or maybe your N64 didn't have the enhanced video card that was really required by some of those games to play them. I tried it once with RE2 and it would crash at the same spot everytime. My friends with the card didn't have any problem with it, so it was teh lack of it.
And cartridge DO crash, they have always crashed. Any program can crash if something gets messed up. With cartridges it's worse as that one of the contacts for the cartridge could be blocked, not lined up properly or fried and the game will crash. Don't know where you got the idea of a cartridge not crashing, I owned a NES back in the old days and cartridges would crash often, same for the super. It's annoying yes, but all you can do is restart it and hope the last save point wasn't too far away.
As for the N64 controllers, they're okay but I think they could have set-up the Golden Eyes control to use the d-pad for moving and strafing and the stick for aiming. Would have been easier in my book, not to mention that set-up works best for FPS on consoles. But meh... Days long ago forgotten.
Perfect Dark does not crash normally. The game itself is not to blame for your broken N64 or cartridge.

ssb (but you have melee so meh)
mario kart
starfox 64
edit: instead of buying them you could just borrow some of my carts
Goldeneye
Mario 64

I tried that once and it still didn't work too good for me. I was born to have two joysticks for console FPS, not a stick and some directional colored buttons.
Anyway, I liked Geomon's Great adventure for the N64. Great fun with two people who aren't l33t w4nkz0rs (does that count as dodging the swear filter? If it does, consider me smacked upside the head.) who ruin the game by STEALING LIVES!!!!!! and RUNNING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS!!! Anyway, the main character's weapon is a bong, so it gets an A in my book!
Everything else I would have suggested has already been mentioned.
And Starfox 64 is a CLASSIC. They could have just remade the game with different levels and enhanced multiplayer, and I would have bought a GameCube just to play it. You can play the SP again and again and again and again... Good times. Good times.
EDIT: You need a controller pack or whatever to save your Geomon games.
Rainbow Six
Perfect Dark
