Persistant Statistics For Players?

<div class="IPBDescription">Could it be good for Teamplay?</div> I'm sure most of us have encountered custom statistics mods on servers that track basic player statistics (kills/deaths). Usually they will have some sort of command (/stats) that allows you to view your statistics. The top ten players can also be displayed for some stat mods but often time the server will have a website with the complete stat sheet for players.
Another interesting little custom statistics mod I see is the one where at the end of the round players are named for basic achievements such as, 'Most Kills' or 'Most Structures Destroyed' and interesting team-related acheievements such as 'Most Structures Built' or 'Most Point for Welding'.
I wonder if these ideas could be merged and implemented on a grander scale with some modification specifically to inspire greater cooperation on pubs.
My thought is some sort of persistant statistic system tailored to inspire team-based performance <i>as well as</i> personal performance. So not only will basic stats such as kills/deaths are recorded but the number of achievements you've accomplished. I would even consider new statistics such as;
- number of Win/Loses you have been a part (on each team)
- number of COMM wins/loses
- kills per evolution
- bullets/grens expended
*<i>The more Teamplay-based Stats the better</i>
Alone this may seem like a novelty feature but what if different ICONS are rewarded to players with various achievements. I'd make the icon visible in the ingame name boxes so it could be worn like a badge of honour. For basic statistics such as kills I would only reward 1 ICON for Top NS Killer but for Team-based Statistics more then 1 person should be able to earn an icon for their achievements, maybe the top 50 players or something.
Whatever the case may be I hope you get the gist of what I'm getting at. I thought about putting this in S&I or Public Beta but what I really want to know is whether you think this system will help cultivate more teamplayers with teamplay-based incentives and rewards, or do you think people will but really start to statwh0re this system?
What do you think? Is it even possible from a technical standpoint?

Unfortunately (if the search function is utilized) it ended up not being feasible from a logistics and fundage standpoint. The system to handle a global database of ALL ns servers and players (at least, that was my thought) would have been too complex, too easy to fool, and in general too costly on bandwidth with the number of updates.
Just proving yet again... you should always use the Search function before posting a new topic.
