Ff7 Problems On Windows Xp

Alright, so a while ago I installed FF7 on my computer (windows XP) and yes I did install the patch to let you play it on windows XP. However, in the desert jail when you're escaping by winning the Chocobo race, well whenever the race is about to begin FF7 just crashes on me. I have no idea why and am hopeing that someone here will have any idea how to fix it.

Hmm... I got a fix for this somehow, but my brother told me where to get it, and now I can't remember. I know there is one, though.

That would be the patch I installed in the first place.

Have you tried running the program in compatibility mode?

Right click .exe -> Properties -> Compatibility Tab -> Try the various settings.
Try running it in Windows 98 mode, or 256 colors maybe.

Phew, I actually finally managed to find a patch on some forums by google searching. It's fixed now and I got past that part. I'll post the link to it if I can find it if anyone else has this problems. Or just AIM me. (Real Freak83)

Iv got the demo somewhere but we are tallking somewhere between 97-99 here when games were sold in BOXES and even then it was pretty rare.

Square came out with a PC vesion of FF7, my cousins have it. Myself I just play my old PS copy with a PS emulator.
