Can i run a 10 person server with ns?

the reason i ask this is because of ns's leet netcode!


okay specs:

OS:[Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 1 (5.1 - 2600)] CPU:[1-AMD XP, 1678MHz, 256KB] ¤VidCard:[NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4400 OC'd to Ti4600]
Memory: 512 DDR (pc2100)
oh and im on a 1mbit down, 512kbit up, adsl connection

on most mods i can usually run about 8-10 players.

Yes. With your rig, the main bottleneck will be the upload speed, but for 10 players that should work fine.

General HL Rule of Thumb for a DS:
150MHZ/player
32-64 Megs of Ram/Player

with what you have there, you can run an 8 person server fine, 10 should work.

yea, i know my cpu can handle it, but is 5v5 too small for a good ns game?

im thinking 5 v 5 - 9 v 9 will work perfect.

The minimum fun size for NS is probably 4v4. The max size before it starts to get out of control is probably 10v10.
