Does Damage Level Affect Grenades?

<div class="IPBDescription">Don't know so I'm asking</div> Obviously level1,2,3 damage makes a difference for all the guns, but does it increase the damage dealt by the Grenade Launcher and the hand grenade, or do they always have a fixed amount of damage?

I'd like to know because when playing Combat, if I want to get the grenade launcher I can spend my points on something else if the damage levels make no difference to grenades.

I crave enlightenment! Give it to me!

    Grenade launchers damage is upgraded, but I dont know about handgrenades. I think it is quite safe to assume that their damage is boosted, too.

    honestly, who gets grenades in combat???

    not that i think of it, grenades are one of the most pointless things in the game besides the alien flashlight. i cant think of one time in the many games ive played were i actually wanted/needed a grenade

    i think it should be either buffed a little of just removed

    I've been in a couple of situations where a grenade would be handy, but thier prohibitive cost and overly long prime time reduce thier effectiveness.

    Start a LAN game.

    sv_cheats 1
    mp_drawdamage 1

    Give yourself a hand grenade, either by upgrading it at the armory and dying, or whatever.

    Run out to the hive, hit it with the nade. Note damage.

    Upgrade to weapons 3.

    Run out to hive, throw the nade. Note damage.

    Grenades are next to useless with the horrible and slow and laggy prime time in co_ and ns_ (ok mabye they have a <span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>small</span> useage to take out an oc here and there, or even throw one to try and hit a skulk for the hell of it) . In co_ your better off getting a Grenade Launcher.

    Actually the alien's "flashlight" can come in handy from time to time. Numerous times our hive has been under attack and lighting everything up makes it much easier to find that mc in a dark hive room.

    I still think that Mines and Grenades should be combo'd into a "Demolitions" pack.

    You didn't answer his question.

    As far as i can recall, earlier versions of NS only upgraded the weapons that wasn't a GL. Weapons upgrades even upped the damage done by turrets in previous versions...

    Unless im forgetting something or misread something, it's safe to assume that Hand Grenades do not increase in power with weapon upgrades. The GL might, though...

    Yeah grenades would be great if they could be thrown faster, I played one game where they came in very handy, it actually means a group of la marines can get through a WOL without too many problems. (well with the help of a phase gate <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

    Damage level affects all weapons except knives,(siege)turrets, and electrification.
