Beta Mic Issues

<div class="IPBDescription">ns_mic ^_^</div> In NS 2.0 and back, the microphone works perfectly and i can speak long sentences without ever jumping and without any noise.
I and all my mates are having the same problem with the beta ns and further,
The microphone has become very noisy/fuzzy almost like a robot noise.
The microphone has also become very jumpy, even though my friend has a very high spec comp, the mic is still the same with many faults and we also have cable speed 600k+ internet so there's definitely no lag as an excuse.
I find the mic essential while im playing NS and expect it to work for me.
What has happened to the mic program? And can i fix it in simple steps?
